King Charles ‘overjoyed’ at Kate Middleton’s cancer remission as future of monarchy now in safe hands
LONDON, ENGLAND: Cancer-stricken King Charles has expressed his relief to courtiers, saying that Kate Middleton's recovery from her life-threatening illness signals a bright future for the royal family.
He reportedly shared that with Kate’s health restored, the monarchy is now in "rude health" and will be in safe hands for another generation.
In September 2024, the Princess of Wales confirmed that she was cancer-free after completing chemotherapy, and in January, she proudly announced that she was officially in remission.

King Charles is reportedly overjoyed by Kate Middleton’s recovery, with sources telling RadarOnline that he is particularly relieved for the future of the monarchy.
One insider shared, "King Charles is naturally overjoyed at Kate beating cancer for several reasons. But on a pragmatic level, he says the monarchy is now in rude health and in safe hands for another generation."
The source went on to highlight the crucial role of Kate and her husband Prince William, "Kate and William are internationally famous and she is box office for the royal family. There have been so many distractions with Harry and Meghan over the last few years and he is completely sick of what he calls their fame-seeking sideshow."
The reports follow an update shared by the Prince and Princess of Wales' X account about her health. Taking to social media, she expressed her "relief."
She expressed her gratitude, saying, "I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year. My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything."
She added, "We couldn’t have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional."
Kate also shared her commitment to supporting groundbreaking research, stating, "In my new role as Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden, my hope is, that by supporting groundbreaking research and clinical excellence, as well as promoting patient and family wellbeing, we might save many more lives, and transform the experience of all those impacted by cancer."
In the post, she further wrote, "It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support," signing off simply as "C" for Catherine.
