Kirk Cameron launches new show to protect children from morals taught by ‘gay dinosaurs and trans ducks’
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Kirk Cameron has announced a new children's program, 'Adventures of Iggy and Mr Kirk', which aims at providing children with moral lessons aligned with biblical values.
The show, which Cameron describes as a "modern-day 'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood'", intends to offer an alternative to what he calls "woke" children's entertainment that includes characters like "gay dinosaurs and trans ducks."
Kirk Cameron's new show reflects his commitment to traditional Christian values
Kirk Cameron's initiative reflects his commitment to traditional Christian teachings and his concern over the current state of children's media content.
'Adventures of Iggy and Mr Kirk' is a live-action series featuring Cameron and Iggy the Iguana, who explore biblical wisdom and values together.
"A show like ‘Adventures of Iggy and Mr Kirk’ is sorely needed right now," the former teen heartthrob-turned-evangelist told Fox News Digital during the green carpet premiere of the show on November 14, Thursday.
"Parents are asking us for it. They're saying things like, ‘Where’s Mr Rogers? We want a show with wholesome, moral values'."
"If you watch many of Hollywood's kids shows, you would think that parents want woke instructions for their kids. But the reality is they don't. They're not looking for gay dinosaurs and trans ducks to teach their children morality," he went on to say.
He further added, "They want wholesome values and morals to be taught to their kids by people that they trust. And that's why I'm so excited about our show."
He explained, "Because it gets to the heart of the kinds of values parents are trying to teach their kids at home and this show is going to reinforce those values while keeping the ‘wow’ factor of the entertainment."
Leigh-Allyn Baker and 'Duck Dynasty' stars support Kirk Cameron's show
Actress Leigh-Allyn Baker, recognized for her roles in 'Charmed' and 'Will & Grace', claimed current television programming is excessively stimulating. She mentioned that 'Adventures of Iggy and Mr Kirk' serves to counteract this by providing a more calming pace.
"First of all, children's entertainment has gotten really visually overstimulating, and they've done studies to show that that's actually the brain on heroin for children," Baker told Fox News Digital.
She added, "It becomes very addicting. So, we wanted something that was slower paced. That parents could actually take a break and let their kids watch. And it would be educational, and it would encourage great behavior, positive attributes to society, ways that we should all be living a better life."
Jep and Jessica Robertson from 'Duck Dynasty' shared their reasons for attending the premiere to support the new program. They believe that anything based on spiritual values is beneficial, and they appreciate the show's resemblance to the beloved 'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood'.
Jep expressed concern about the current direction of children's entertainment.
"I think you can see that people are kind of done with the ‘woke’ stuff, which is good. It's like a breath of fresh air," he said.

Another added, "Mr Rogers was a national treasure and a pastor who showed children real Christ-like behavior- loving all people, even those others disliked etc."
The third commentator remarked, "Impressive! We need more of this I really don’t know what the society is turning into. I can’t imagine what these kids have been seeing and made to believe it’s right while in the real sense it’s totally wrong feeding minors with the wrong content."
"Finally, someone dedicated to teaching genuine morals to our kids and not delusional identity obsessions," said a fan.
A person said, "Wonderful! I have the channel information. We will be watching the show in our household with our toddler! Love this."
