LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have taken proactive measures to enhance their safety by reaching out to the Los Angeles Police Department for increased security around their marital home.

The couple made this request earlier this week, following concerns from past security incidents at their property, which is situated in a gated neighborhood.

The request comes after Travis Barker opened up about a leaked photo of Kourtney Kardashian and their son, Rocky Thirteen.

In a September interview with the Wall Street Journal, the Blink-182 drummer shared his frustration, saying, "We’d rather keep him out of the spotlight. If I could do everything different, I would have done the same thing with my [older] kids."

Although there is no immediate threat to their safety, the couple is wary after experiencing trespassing events at their home.

"Simply put, Kourtney and Travis just want some additional police visibility around their neighborhood," disclosed a source to TMZ

The Kardashian family has a documented history of security challenges, and Kourtney and Travis are not exempt from these worries.

Previously, a fan of Travis' band managed to breach a neighborhood security gate in an attempt to reach the drummer's home. The fan was reportedly arrested and booked for trespassing.

Kourtney's sister, Kim Kardashian, has also dealt with similar unsettling experiences, including a situation in 2021 where an individual arrived at her Hidden Hills residence after sending her unwanted gifts.

Law enforcement officials have confirmed that residents have the option to request extra patrols in their neighborhoods. "Anyone can request extra patrols in their area — and deputies will try to make the request happen," noted a police spokesperson.

As they prepare to celebrate their son Rocky Thirteen’s first birthday, Kourtney and Travis are understandably keen to ensure their family's safety.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's request for more police visibility sparks trolling

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's decision to request increased police patrols around their Southern California home has sparked mixed reactions online, with many questioning the use of public resources for celebrity security.

One voiced frustration, writing, "This is THEIR prob, not public service unless it is stalking," while another commented, "That’s one way to make it seem that you're still relevant."

A person points out the couple's wealth and suggests they hire private security instead. They wrote, "Bro @kourtneykardash @travisbarker you're rich right? Hire your own security! You don't deserve more public service resources than anyone else!"

Some highlighted that Kourtney’s sister Kim has her own security team, with a commenter stating, "They should pay for their own like Kim does. She has a team and she pays it herself. Don't waste police resources and tax money."

Despite the criticism, one netizen saw a job opportunity in the situation, humorously writing, "I’ll do security for them. They pay good! I’ll go get my guard card and gun permit."

"They are millionaires, they can pay a private security to home," stated an individual.
