Kristin Davis recalls how she confronted 'very successful' actor who ghosted her after she lent him $5K

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kristin Davis recently opened up on a deeply personal experience during an episode of her podcast 'Are You a Charlotte?'

Speaking with guest Sarah Wynter, Davis recounted a time when she lent $5,000 to a then-struggling actor she was dating, only to be ghosted shortly afterward.

The incident, which took place before Kristin Davis' rise to fame on 'Sex and the City', left a lasting impact on her outlook on relationships and financial generosity.

“I did one time date this out-of-work actor,” Davis shared.

“He was very talented, but at the time, I had money because I’d been working. I went to his house, and it was covered in unpaid bills, including electricity shut-off notices,” she recalled.

Davis described how the situation escalated after the actor wrecked his motorcycle, leaving him unable to attend auditions. Feeling compassionate, she offered to help.

“I said, ‘Can I lend you some money?’ It was a horrible mistake,” she admitted.

Kristin Davis explained how the act of lending money altered their relationship dynamic.

“It changed the dynamic in a really horrible way,” she reflected, adding, “Shortly after lending him the $5,000, he stopped calling me."

Confused and upset, Davis eventually decided to confront him directly.

“I went to his apartment and knocked on his door. I could hear his dog inside, but no one answered,” she recalled.

The actor later called her to confirm her visit, leaving Davis feeling embarrassed.

“I felt messy, like I was doing something wrong,” she confessed.

During the candid conversation, both Kristin Davis and Sarah Wynter agreed on the perils of mixing finances with romantic relationships.

“Do not lend money to someone you’re dating. It doesn’t end well. It really irked me," Davis advised listeners.

Wynter encouraged Davis to seek closure by revisiting the actor, joking she should ask for the money back “with interest.”

However, Davis laughed off at the suggestion, noting the actor now lives “out in the country with some children.”

Despite the embarrassment and frustration, Davis acknowledged the incident as a learning experience.

“You live and you learn. I can’t say that was the last time I did it. I think the next time was the last time," she said.
