Speaking to The Mirror US, James described their PDA as “performative” and, at times, “one-sided.” She noted that these moments typically occur under full camera coverage, suggesting they may be more about sending a message than a natural display of affection.

“There is something very performative about the loving body language in these clips. They generally occur when there is full camera coverage and, as a signal of intent, they seem to be letting the world know that this is a love match,” she added.

James analyzed Jenner’s “touch rituals,” interpreting them as signs of pride and deep investment in the relationship. She believes Jenner thrives on Chalamet’s attention and enjoys making their romance visible. Chalamet, on the other hand, appears more reserved in his responses.

"At times she uses the body language of a proud mom at a school open day. Timothee might perform the odd ritual that makes him look dreamy-in-love but there's little natural synchronicity here," James observed.

"He does seem to include Kylie in his award nights more and more though, so maybe this is something that is growing, albeit at a very slow pace," she added.
