BERLIN, GERMANY: Valentine's Day saw Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet stepping out together at the Berlin Fim Festival (held between 13 and 23 February), but their PDA-filled display was tagged as "one-sided" by a body language expert.

As Chalamet's latest film, 'A Complete Unknown', took center stage, Jenner gently stroked the actor's face, the couple appearing every bit the loved-up duo.

However, body language expert Judi James saw something deeper, something "performative" and, at times, "one-sided," The Mirror US reported.

“There is something very performative about the loving body language in these clips. They generally occur when there is full camera coverage and, as a signal of intent, they seem to be letting the world know that this is a love match.”

For Jenner, her "touch rituals" radiate pride. According to James, she appears to “adore the attention” that Chalamet gives her.

But while Jenner's affections seem fully invested, Chalamet's reciprocation is notably more reserved, creating a contrast in their interactions.

James said, “At times she uses the body language of a proud mom at a school open day. Timothee might perform the odd ritual that makes him look dreamy-in-love but there's little natural synchronicity here. He does seem to include Kylie in his award nights more and more though, so maybe this is something that is growing, albeit at a very slow pace.”

This disparity was further emphasized by their drastically different fashion choices for the evening.

Jenner, embodying old-Hollywood glamour, stunned in a figure-hugging black sequin dress, a look fit for a silver-screen siren.

Meanwhile, Chalamet took a strikingly casual approach, sporting a custom Chrome Hearts ensemble consisting of a pink hoodie, pink baggy jeans, pink Timberlands, and a pink rose, a sartorial statement that seemed to exist in a world separate from Jenner's refined aesthetic.

“It's rather one-sided though, with Kylie dressed perfectly to grace a Hollywood red carpet as though keen to upgrade her status by looking like the very beautiful star who is up for all the awards. She looks stunning here and very elegant, making an impact with her sophisticated styling,” the body language expert said.

Their contrasting styles hinted at something more than just differing wardrobes as James wondered, “Does Timothee give out vibes of a perfect, compatible match though? The answer has to be 'No'."

She continued, "A guy who dates a woman who is dressed in elegant, classy, black sequins and who turns up in a pink 'romper' suit is not wanting to suggest like-minded synchronicity. Timothee appears here in a variety of youthful, casual outfits that would never give the hint that he is paired off to his sophisticate and adult-looking girl.”
