Kylie Jenner covers funeral expenses for hairstylist Jesus Guerrero after his 'unexpected' death at 34

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kylie Jenner's longtime hairstylist and close friend Jesus Guerrero died at the age of 34.

His family expressed gratitude to Jenner as she covered the late hairstylist's funeral expenses.

How did Jesus Guerrero die?

Jesus Guerrero's sudden and unexpected death was announced on Saturday, February 22, sending shockwaves throughout the industry.

However, his cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.

A celebrated hairstylist who worked with some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, and Kylie Jenner, Guerrero had built a reputation for his expertise and deep connections with his celebrity clients.

In response to the tragedy, Jesus Guerrero’s sister, Gris Guerrero, created a GoFundMe page to help raise funds for transporting his body from Los Angeles to Texas for burial. Initially, the family anticipated they would have to bear the financial burden alone.

However, on Tuesday, February 25, they updated the page with an announcement expressing their heartfelt gratitude toward Kylie Jenner who stepped in to cover the funeral costs in full.

"When this GoFundMe was set up, we created it thinking we would have to take care of all the expenses ourselves. We didn’t want to burden any clients with this," the family shared in their message.

"Our family deeply appreciates Kylie for later offering to cover funeral expenses and offering up all her help and support," they added.

Jesus Guerrero's family reveals how donations will be used

Though Kylie Jenner’s contribution has eased the family’s financial burden regarding the funeral, the Jesus Guerrero family noted that the previously raised $96,000 would now be allocated toward securing his belongings and handling the many unexpected expenses that have arisen in the wake of his death.

"With his death being so unexpected, there are many things that weren’t set up for a time like this. The next several months will have many hoops we will have to jump through to ensure we honor him in the best way we can," the family explained.

They further shared that Guerrero’s mother would be taking time off to grieve.

"A mother should never have to bury her child. We truly appreciate everyone’s support. Thank you," said the family, according to Page Six.

Kylie Jenner’s public tribute to Jesus Guerrero

In addition to privately assisting the family, Kylie Jenner, 27, publicly honored Jesus Guerrero with a touching tribute on Instagram after taking some time to grieve in private.

The billionaire beauty mogul had been working with Guerrero for nearly a decade and considered him more than just a hairstylist.

"Jesus was more than my friend – he was a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support," Jenner wrote in a heartfelt post alongside a collection of photos and videos of them together.

She reflected on how much Guerrero meant to her and how he played an integral role in her life, both personally and professionally.

"I don’t know how I would have made it through the last almost decade without him by my side. He had a way of making even the heaviest days feel lighter."

"Thank you for always being there for me and for lifting me up," Jenner concluded in her tribute.
