The reason was a devastating personal loss, the sudden death of her close friend and longtime hairstylist, Jesus Guerrero, reported Page Six.

Jesus Guerrero, a beloved name in the beauty industry, died unexpectedly at just 34. His sister, Gris Guerrero, confirmed the heartbreaking news through a GoFundMe page, describing him as “a son, a brother, an uncle, an artist, a friend, and so much more".
“Unfortunately, his passing came very suddenly and unexpectedly,” she continued.
The cause of his death remains undisclosed, but his family expressed their profound grief, sharing on social media that they have been “falling into tears repeatedly, reminiscing and wondering what (they) could have done differently".
Jenner, 27, has yet to make a public statement. However, her close relationship with Guerrero was well-documented through years of social media posts showcasing his hairstyling artistry.
In Jenner’s absence, Timothee Chalamet, 29, arrived at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles for the award show with his mother, Nicole Flender. The actor stunned in a black leather blazer suit with a neon green pop a bold statement fitting for a night that saw him win big.
Chalamet took home the award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in 'A Complete Unknown'. Overcome with emotion, he reflected on his aspirations to join the ranks of Hollywood’s greatest.
“I’m as inspired by Daniel Day-Lewis and Marlon Brando and Viola Davis as I am by Michael Jordan and Michael Phelps,” he said in his acceptance speech.
“I want to be up there so I’m deeply grateful to that. This does not signify that, but it’s a little more fuel, it’s a little more ammo to keep going. Thank you so much," he added.
Chalamet later revealed his mother’s reaction to his victory. “She said, ‘Don’t forget to fold your laundry,’” he quipped in a post-show interview, laughing at how she has managed to keep him grounded even at the height of his career.
With the 2025 Oscars just around the corner where Chalamet is in the running for another Best Actor award, it remains uncertain if Jenner will be by his side. But for the SAG Awards, her absence was deeply felt, as she mourned a friend who had been by her side for years.

A source close to Kylie Jenner revealed that the 27-year-old beauty mogul is “shocked and deeply upset” by the devastating loss of her friend and hair stylist.
“Jesus’ death hit her hard," the insider told People.
"She is shocked and very upset. Still, she’s doing everything she can to be supportive and aid his family, including financially," they added.

The source added that Jenner wants to ease the financial burden on Guerrero’s loved ones during this painful time. "As upset as she feels, she knows it’s so much worse for his family. She doesn’t want them to stress about money. She’s taking care of expenses, including those associated with his funeral,” the source continued.
Guerrero wasn’t just Jenner’s hairstylist, he was a trusted confidant who helped shape some of her most iconic looks. He recently styled her for Paris Couture Fashion Week and the 2025 Golden Globes. Their last public photo together was posted on Jenner’s Instagram on February 12.
