Kylie Jenner's vintage Versace dress rips at 2025 Golden Globes as she pays homage to Elizabeth Hurley

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kylie Jenner glittered like a thousand diamonds as she accompanied her beau, Timothee Chalamet, to the Golden Globes second year in a row.

While the 27-year-old makeup mogul turned heads with her vintage chainmail Atelier Versace dress from the brand’s Spring 1999 collection, eagle-eyed fashion pundits and netizens were quick to notice a "painful" detail in her dress - a glaring snag along a seam of the gown, as per The US Sun.

According to "Fashion Bible" Vogue, the Khy founder wore the same dress as Elizabeth Hurley wore to the 1999 CFDA Awards.

However, some fashion pundits and netizens pointed out that while Hurley and Jenner's dresses were from the same collection, they weren't the same piece. While the British actress' dress was lilac, 'The Kardashian' star sported a silver number.

The mother of two later took to Instagram to share a share a carousel of photos, showing off the gorgeous dress. 

Unfortunately, this was not the only gaffe that Jenner suffered as netizens speculated that Demi Moore, who bagged a Golden Globe for ‘The Substance’, appeared to ignore her while talking to her boyfriend, Chalamet.

Redditors were quick to point out that Kylie Jenner likely "destroyed" the vintage Versace dress on noticing the ripped seam. 

One wrote, "Vintage dress destroyed successfully 😬," and another asked, "Why do they keep doing this to vintage iconic dresses??? Can't they wear something original for once that fits their body??? Like why???? Why do they have to ruin everything."

Meanwhile, someone else explained that it was a different dress from the same collection, saying, "On the bright side, this isn’t the exact same dress Liz Hurley wore, it’s another color variant from the Versace archives of the same design."

"She took notes from Kim ruining Marilyn’s dress," added someone else, referencing the 2022 debacle of Kim Kardashian allegedly ruining Marilyn Monroe's iconic "Happy Birthday, Mr President" dress by wearing it to the Met Gala. 

Another user noted, "So rather than wearing something from her Khy brand, she insisted on wearing a vintage dress (that should have been left alone) only to rip it."

One more wrote, "I still can't believe Kylie's stylist didn't think of the dress ripping like that. This woman has all the money in the world and couldn't get a properly fitting dress? (Or, if this is an original, commission Versace to make a replica made for her measurements?)." 

"Imagine having all that money, access and options and you just can’t get it right still. Like holy heck it’s painful," an individual expressed. 

"Can’t they get dresses that are not sample sizes or not samples from the archives and just something new bc they clearly rip these vintage dresses everytime trying to squeeze themselves into something they don’t fit I don’t understand how fashion works but they’re rich I’m sure they could buy something," one snarked. 

Another quipped, "They have inflated themselves waaaay outta sample size, they just don't want to seem to accept that."
