Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’: Actress says she has 'never done anything' like it
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lady Gaga teased fans with her Harley Quinn role in her upcoming flick ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’.
The singer-actress was attending her ‘Gaga Chromatica Ball’ screening and dance party on Thursday, May 23.
"My version of Harley is mine and it's very authentic to this movie and these characters, and I don't want to give anything from the movie away," the 38-year-old said.
"I think it's really something you have to experience in the theater," Gaga told Access Hollywood.
"This film has music, it has dance, it has amazing acting in it. I loved working with Joaquin [Phoenix], I loved working with [director] Todd [Phillips]. What I will say is that I've never done anything like I've done in this movie before, so it's all going to be completely brand new and really fun," she added.
Harley Quinn's character on the big screen so far
The ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ is a sequel to Joaquin Phoenix's 2019 film ‘Joker'.
Interestingly, Margot Robbie played Harley Quinn in 2016's 'Suicide Squad', 2021's 'The Suicide Squad', and the 2020 film ‘Birds of Prey’.
The Harley Quinn character came into existence with the 1992 cartoon ‘Batman: The Animated Series’.
According to Variety, director Todd Phillips previously hinted that the upcoming flick would be a musical, but clarified that while there will be plenty of song and dance numbers, it's not a strict musical in the traditional sense.
The ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ will hit theaters on October 4.
