Despite the lighthearted joke about proposing, Wilson seems to be in a place where she’s ready to take her relationship with Duck to the next level.
Wilson also shared that being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry was one of the standout moments of her year.
The 'Small Town, Girl' singer said, “I think it was getting inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. I feel like I’m right where I’m supposed to be. Just so many things to celebrate. So if 2025 is anything like 2024, it’s gonna be another hell of a ride.”
The couple has been together for some time, and Wilson’s love for Duck is evident in her music. On her latest album, she penned the heartfelt love song '4X4XU', a rare glimpse into her deep affection for him.
Wilson has previously admitted that before meeting Duck, she had never written love songs because there wasn’t anyone in her life she felt strongly enough about to inspire such lyrics.
Lainey Wilson explains reasons for taking their time when it comes to getting engaged
It's not the first time Lainey Wilson's joked about being the one to propose to Duck Hodges. When she released 'Whirlwind' album, she included a song called 'Counting Chickens' that seemed to suggest she's ready for marriage.
When Taste of Country pressed her for details on whether or not Hodges inspired the song, she had this to say, "I guess I'm going to have to propose to his a--, because he ain't proposed to me!"
But the singer also mentioned that she and Hodges have good reasons for taking their time when it comes to getting engaged.
"I think it needs to be during a season of our life where we really have the time to enjoy it," she reflected, adding "Right now it would be like, 'Oh shoot, I'm engaged. Okay, on to the next thing."
