Larry Hogan labeled 'snake' as he stresses independence in new ad days after Trump endorsed him

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND: Larry Hogan has reportedly asserted independence and suggested his non-alliance to Donald Trump as he put out a new advertisement endorsing himself.

In the ad video shared on YouTube, the Former Governor of Maryland said, “Sometimes one person can make a difference. My dad Congressman Larry Hogan Sr was the first Republican to call for President Nixon’s impeachment.”

He further mentioned the late Sen John McCain (R-Ariz) who worked to save Obama care, before naming himself for “putting people above the politics to keep Maryland safe” during the Covid-19 pandemic, as reported by The Hill.

“Strong, independent leaders can make a difference. That’s exactly what Washington needs today,” Hogan stated, before quoting former President Kennedy, who said, “Sometimes party loyalty demands too much.”

Donald Trump endorses Larry Hogan

The 68-year-old politician’s ad came days after Donald Trump endorsed him despite him not being critical of the 78-year-old’s guilty verdict in the hush money trial. Trump endorsed Hogan against Democrat Angela Alsobrooks.

Most of the Republicans had slammed the May 30 conviction with the former leader himself alleging, “This was a disgrace, this was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge. The real verdict will be November 5th by the people and they know what happened here, and everybody knows what happened here.”

But Trump recently said about Hogan, “Yeah, I’d like to see him win. I think he has a good chance to win. We gotta take the majority. We have to straighten out our country. So I’d like to see him win.”

“He’s somebody that can win, I know other people made some strong statements, but I can just say from my standpoint, I’m about the party, and I’m about the country,” he had added.

Netizens slam Larry Hogan

His ad attracted some attention online with a user saying, “The ultimate irony that it will likely be ultra-MAGA Republicans that will prevent Hogan from winning.”



 

“Even if it means not getting majority in Senate, I hope Hogan loses. Hogan doesn't have a conservative bone in his body,” a second user tweeted.



 

“Hogan has been Trump bitched,” a third one remarked.



 

A fourth user stated, “Hogan is a snake; he will win as a Republican then flip to the Democrats.”



 



 

“Uni-party rat. Go find a sewer in which to drown,” a fifth user added.



 

“Ha! Sure @LarryHogan!  You're a #TrumpPuppet,” an individual wrote.



 

“Hogan should be thankful for Trump's endorsement,” another individual added.
