'Last one looked better': Internet split over 'Tiger King' Joe Exotic's new mugshot featuring longer mullet

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, FLORIDA: Netflix docuseries 'Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness' star Joe Exotic sported a new look in his latest prison mugshot.

With shorter bangs and a longer blonde mullet, the 60-year-old looked strikingly different in the picture taken at Florida's Santa Rosa County Prison. In a previous mugshot, he was seen with a shorter curled mullet and shaggy bangs. 

Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Allen Maldonado Passage, is currently serving a 21-year sentence in Oklahoma's Grady County Jail for attempting to pay two hitmen to murder animal rights activist Carole Baskin. 

According to TMZ, Exotic was sent to the Santa Rosa County Jail on Wednesday, March 27, to appear in court in a civil action pertaining to a disagreement over music. 

Vince Johnson, a country singer, has claimed he owns the rights to some songs that Exotic played in the Netflix series.

Netizens took to Facebook to comment on Exotic's new look, with one stating, "He just wanted fame now he has it but can’t enjoy it."

Another added, "Still looks the same," while a person remarked, "Ready to get back on his throne as the Tiger King!"

"Just in time for the Mullet Festival in NICEville Florida to start back up. With any luck he’s out in time to be the headliner," mocked someone else. 

An individual referred to Exotic's previous look and said, "I like the shorter, bleached blonde, and bangs look better."

One questioned, "Why's he get a new mugshot nobody else does not after sentencing," and another person asked, "Just wondering how he’s getting hair dye in prison?!?!??"

"Hair looking good Joe," said a netizen. "Bringing back the wave bangs…I’m here for it," expressed a user. 

Joe Exotic earlier made fun of Machine Gun Kelly

In February, Exotic poked fun at Machine Gun Kelly saying he could change the rapper's sexual orientation by giving him drugs and a tiger.

He took to X (formerly Twitter) to take a dig at the 33-year-old musician as he was making waves for a new blackout tattoo that covered his torso. 

Exotic shared a picture of a shirtless MGK that contained the caption, "A tiger and a little bit of meth I can make MGK gay." He tagged the artist on his post and wrote, "Anyone remember that line from Tiger King? @machinegunkelly."

In another X post, Exotic mentioned Machine Gun Kelly's longtime partner Megan Fox, and stated, "Once you go Tiger King you'll forget about the Fox."

He also attached a photo of the musician with the scrawling, "Now that we're practically a new item. Help me get the hell out of here."

It was an allusion to the immensely famous Netflix docuseries whereby Exotic's ex-husbands, Travis Maldonado and Dillon Passage, were exposed as straight men lured into romantic relationships by the promise of drugs and tiger care, as per Daily Mail.

In 2019, "The Tiger King" was found guilty on 17 federal counts of animal mistreatment and two counts of attempted murder for hire related to his scheme to assassinate Baskin, the owner of Big Cat Rescue.

He was taken into custody after he apparently offered $10,000 (£7,900) to an undercover FBI agent to kill Carole. Their disagreement stemmed from Exotic's handling of the animals in Oklahoma's Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park.

Exotic, who maintains his innocence, has tried reaching out to celebrities like Machine Gun Kelly and Kim Kardashian to help him get out of prison.
