During the 'Shine Away' event hosted by Witherspoon’s media company, 'Hello Sunshine', in Los Angeles on October 5, Dern, 57, shared that her bond with the 'Legally Blonde' actress impacts nearly every aspect of her existence.

In a candid moment at the panel, Laura Dern expressed the depth of their connection, stating, “Basically I run everything by Reese. From my romantic life all the way to what jobs I should do," as per US Weekly.
Adding to the light-hearted atmosphere, Witherspoon chimed in with a joke about their recent collaboration: “We produced a barbecue last week.” Dern responded enthusiastically, “We did. It was amazing."

Laura Dern, known for her role as Renata Klein in HBO’s 'Big Little Lies', also credited actress Jane Fonda as a significant influence in her life, remarking, “What I learned from the four or five women who raised me, who were actresses who then became writers or producers or directors, was that there was no community, there was no inside without each other.” She emphasized the importance of sisterhood in storytelling and the lasting impact these women have had on her journey.
“And that sisterhood drove them. Jane Fonda being one, along with my mother and an amazing group of women who decided they had to be the storytellers to be in the story at all, and they are true pioneers that led us to understand that.”

“Spreading Holiday joy … It’s exhausting,” Witherspoon captioned her post, featuring a cheerful photo of her and Dern grinning beside a colorful Christmas tree while holding cocktails. Another image captured the pair after the festivities, looking worn out as they kicked off their heels.
Fans of 'Big Little Lies' have even more to look forward to, as a third season has been confirmed by fellow star Nicole Kidman in 2025.
“I loved Big Little Lies because it sort of came along at a time in my life when I had my children and I was thinking I was going to retire,” Nicole Kidman said during a Q&A session in November 2023.
“And then this situation came along where Reese Witherspoon and I were able to produce that show and create that show and then all of you watched it and made it a massive success. And we will be bringing you a third one, just FYI.”
