Laura Ingraham warns Kamala Harris’ price controls will 'recreate' 1970s inflation crisis
WASHINGTON, DC: Conservative commentator Fox News host Laura Ingraham has issued a stark warning about Vice President Kamala Harris's proposed price control measures, arguing they could mirror the economic turmoil of the 1970s.
According to Laura, Harris’s plans to combat high prices and corporate greed are reminiscent of the era’s inflationary crisis.

Laura Ingraham, a prominent figure in conservative circles, has sharply criticized Harris's proposal. According to the Fox News host, Harris's plans are reminiscent of the 1970s era of economic strife, marked by inflation and shortages.
"She (Kamala) actually wants us to go back. Well, to the 1970s. She's not content with just the inflationary misery of the Carter era. Kamala wants the crippling shortages that went along with it," Laura asserted.

During a recent speech, Harris emphasized her commitment to reducing prices and tackling corporate greed. "It will be my day one priority to fight to bring down prices, to take on the big corporations that engage in illegal price gouging," she declared.
However, Laura and other critics have accused Harris of leaning towards what they describe as "communist price controls." Laura contends that Harris’s proposed measures could lead to adverse effects such as food shortages and increased inflation, drawing a parallel to the economic issues of the 1970s.
“Oh, she's tough. She's going to take on those companies. Well, what does that mean? Now Kamala is reportedly proposing communist price controls,” Laura added.

Trump warned that Harris's price control proposals could backfire, saying, “She wants price controls to actually have the exact opposite impact and effect. But it leads to food shortages, rationing, hunger, dramatically more inflation.”

Laura’s criticism goes further, asserting that Harris’s approach reflects a misunderstanding of free market economics. “Kamala will tomorrow propose the first ever federal ban on corporate price gouging in the food and grocery industries. And claiming that there's a big difference between fair pricing in competitive markets and excessive prices unrelated to the cost of doing business. Well, that's spoken like a true Bernie Sanders socialist. Now, add free market economics to the list of topics that Harris apparently just cannot comprehend,” said Laura.
According to Laura, high prices are not merely a result of corporate greed but are driven by broader economic factors, including government spending and energy policies. “Prices are high because the cost of doing business is high. Because trillions that Biden and Harris spent on climate and COVID boondoggles shot up inflation. And because of their Green Act policies that drove up the cost of oil and gas. So responding with price controls is like dropping kerosene on an open flame. The woman's going to burn down the entire economy with this idea," she said.
