Laura Prepon's date of separation from husband Ben Foster has a suspicious Danny Masterson connection

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Laura Prepon's date of separation from estranged husband Ben Foster may have a surprising connection with Danny Masterson.

People reported on November 12 that the 44-year-old Foster has filed for divorce from his wife of five years, Prepon, also 44, citing "irreconcilable differences."

While the divorce filing happened recently, the couple’s date of separation mentioned in the filing has raised quite a few eyebrows.

Laura Prepon married her ‘That ‘70s Show’ star husband in 2018 after dating for around three years. Their years-long friendship started turning into a romance around 2015.

When they tied the knot, Foster and the ‘Orange Is the New Black’ actress had welcomed their daughter Ella, 7. In 2020, they expanded their family when they welcomed their son. 

However, as the couple’s mutual friend, Danny Masterson, was going through a rigorous trial that witnessed him getting convicted, the estranged couple’s marriage was crumbling. 

In his divorce filing, Foster, known for his role in ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason while mentioning their date of separation as September 9, 2023, just two days after Masterson was convicted. 

The coincidence of the two events did not go unnoticed with Nicki Swift reporting that the timing sparked multiple theories.

While one of the theories suggests that it was Prepon’s support of Masterson that led to the dissolution of her marriage, another theory suggests that Foster, who also has an old connection with Masterson (owing to them co-starring in ‘That ‘70s Show’), might have also supported his old friend during his trial, leading to the crumbling of his relationship.

According to the outlet, there has been a rumor in Tinsel Town that Prepon’s support of her old friend during his trial might have acted as a catalyst in her separation from Foster. 

However, on the other hand, it is also true that she has not publicly lent her support to Masterson unlike their other co-stars Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis. 

She, however, previously revealed that she had left the Church of Scientology, which had a connection to the case because of the intimidation techniques they used to hush Masterson’s accusers. 

Nevertheless, it was not only the Church of Scientology and ‘That ‘70s Show’ that connected her with Masterson. She was in an almost decade-long relationship with his brother Christopher Masterson, which facilitated her close relationship with the family.

Even though the former couple separated in 2007, she remained friends with the Mastersons. Only after she left the Church of Scientology in 2016, she started distancing herself from the family.

While Prepon’s friendship with the Masterson might have been in the spotlight, it can be the other way around as Foster too had a history of friendship with Masterson.

‘The Survivor’ actor’s friendship with Masterson also dates back years. Foster was even present during his marriage with Bijou Phillips back in 2011.

Thus, no matter what the case is, Foster and Prepon cannot shake themselves off from the shadow of Masterson in their relationship. The rumors of his connection with Prepon and Foster only got exacerbated when their date of separation was listed as September 9.
