Leah Remini reveals why Tom Cruise, John Travolta 'shut up' about Scientology and will never leave cult

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Leah Remini, former member of the Church of Scientology, has shared her thoughts on key members Tom Cruise and John Travolta and why they’re not speaking much about their association with the controversial religion now.
Speaking with Us Weekly recently, the 54-year-old said, “Can you imagine Tom being in a normal world? Like, without Scientology doing his dirty work for him? No.”

She also asserted that the ‘Mission: Impossible’ star has been using Scientology to safeguard his public image.
Leah Remini claims Tom Cruise and John Travolta stay silent to 'protect their careers'
Leah Remini alleges that Tom Cruise has depended on Scientology for years to safeguard his public image, even claiming the organization engineered his mid-2000s breakup with ex-girlfriend Nazanin Boniadi and actively suppressed negative press about him.
“He’s given enormous power. This is a man who has a multi-million-dollar organization using all its resources to stop a book being written about him,” she stated.

The author of the book ‘Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology and her Emmy-winning A&E docuseries, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath', released in 2015, also spoke about infamous actor Danny Masterson, who is currently behind bars for sexually assaulting two women.
“Scientology made Danny the way he is. He was raised to believe that whatever he did, they would figure it out within the walls of Scientology,” Remini claimed.
‘The King of Queens’ actress then mentioned John Travolta, who's been the cult’s loyal followers for decades.
But she “believe[s] it’s hurt Tom and John — and rightfully so. If they ever wanted a real life, to be who they really are, they’d have to leave the organization.”
Regarding the actors’ apparent silence about Scientology lately, Remini shared, “They’re being exposed for what they truly believe in and they realized, ‘We better shut up, or we’re not going to have careers.’”

“But that doesn’t mean they aren’t still in full agreement with what the Church does,” she stated.
Leah Remini says celebrities linked to Scientology won’t ever leave cult
Leah Remini also mentioned that she does not think any of these celebrity members will ever leave the Church of Scientology.
She told Us Weekly, “I used to hope a lot of these people would leave. But I kind of feel like they need Scientology. I don’t know if they’d make it in the real world.”
Meanwhile, a representative for the Church of Scientology has slammed Remini, saying, “For years Ms Remini has repeated ad nauseam unsupported and untrue allegations to monetize her hate campaign against the Church of Scientology.”
“There has never existed a shred of evidence to support, let alone prove, any of her outlandish claims,” they added.
