Piers Morgan faces backlash for doubting timing of Kate Middleton’s controversial Mother’s Day post
LONDON, UK: Piers Morgan is facing strong criticism online after he weighed in on Kate Middleton’s controversial Mother’s Day photo.
The British journalist in ‘TMZ Investigates: Where is Kate Middleton?’ reportedly expressed, as reported by Page Six, “I’m not convinced that the picture of Kate herself was taken the week before.”
Piers Morgan says Kate Middleton is ‘thinner’ than she appeared in Mother’s Day image
He further said, “I know somebody who saw her that week who said she didn’t look anything like the picture. It was just somebody who bumped into her who knows her who said she looked a lot thinner than she did in the picture.”
Morgan also noted that the mother-of-three “is pretty thin anyway and she was described to me as being thinner than usual [after her January abdominal surgery].”
“I do not believe that’s an accurate reflection of how she accurately looks at the time,” he added.
Princess of Wales’ Mother’s Day post with her children created more controversies than ever when it was reported that the picture was highly edited.
Though it was uploaded on her and Prince William’s joint Instagram account, Kate only took the responsibility and issued an apology.
She said, “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused,” before adding, “I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”
Piers Morgan slammed for speaking about Kate Middleton’s physique
Meanwhile, some people took offense to Morgan’s comments as a person below the Page Six article commented, “The last thing that you want to do when you’re in pain or not feeling great is eat. Some lose weight when they’re stressed. Some are just naturally thin like Princess Catherine, a naturally thin woman who has been hounded for months while recovering for an extended period from an extensive procedure, with 3 kids 10 and under and the world’s scrutiny on her back, would not surprise me if she is extra thin. I don’t think she needs to justify her body to anyone.”
Another person wrote, “Wow, imagine that. A women who's had a major surgery, followed by a long recovery, losing weight!?! You don't say! Worry about your own waist line, Piers.”
One user shared, “Uh, Piers, remember the camera adds pounds. That could explain why Catherine looks thinner in person than in photos and videos.”
“Wow, imagine that, having surgery and being thinner afterwards. Good grief. Here’s an idea: leave her alone already,” another user said.
“She’s sitting down, wearing a dark jacket and top, and is wearing makeup. Plus the kids are right next to her, obscuring her outline. Of course, she’s going to look different! What’s that saying about the camera adding ten pounds? Come on, Piers,” a user added.
One user wrote, "I hope someone sues TMZ and Pierce. He’s supposed to be a friend of Queen Camilla. Maybe not anymore."
"Did these men ever stop to think maybe she was editing to distract herself from the pain," stated a user.
