During a 2022 interview, Liam Payne remarked, "My life now is his, my money is his. I have actually got several companies that are up and running that I know he can run one day if he wants to or (he can sell them)."

Payne was known for his generosity, often giving away significant portions of his wealth to those in need. In one instance, he spent £10,000 in a single night on various GoFundMe campaigns to support others.

A close friend of Payne’s shared, "Liam had all this money and, yes, he had fancy things in life, but he also had a burning desire to use his money to do good." The friend went on to compare Payne’s charitable acts to those of his idol, George Michael, another musician known for his philanthropy.

"Even in the weeks leading up to his death and when he was battling his own demons he was helping others. He was really passionate about being a good person, especially when it came to children. He was like one of his idols George Michael in that respect."

Payne reportedly spent £770 on medical bills for a young girl injured in a school shooting, stating that, as a father, he couldn’t ignore her plight.

"As a father, it hits me differently. I have been spending the last few nights trying to finish off the donations so they can get the operations they need. They would be free in my country. I can’t not look at a sick child and not see Bear. I’m not asking for people to say well done or I’m amazing," Payne said at the time.

He emphasized that his motivation wasn’t for praise, but to ensure the child received the care she needed.

In the wake of Liam Payne’s untimely death at 31, a poignant letter he wrote to his 10-year-old self in 2020 has resurfaced, offering a heartfelt glimpse into his life journey.

Originally shared during an appearance on BBC Radio 1 with host Scott Mills, the letter was brought back into the spotlight following an emotional tribute posted on BBC Radio 2’s Instagram on October 17.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Payne participated in a segment where he was asked to reflect on his younger years by writing a letter to himself at age ten. In this touching note, the former One Direction member playfully warned his younger self about the impending rollercoaster of fame and fortune.

“Get ready! It’s about to get a little bumpy. Cherish every moment with your loved ones right now,” he wrote, setting the tone for a life filled with highs and lows.

“When you turn fourteen, something magical is going to happen,” he wrote.

He also advised his younger self to "stay young at heart" and to embrace the extraordinary experiences awaiting him, including world tours and the exhilaration of global fame. “When you first meet them, it’s going to be chaos, but just remember to enjoy yourself,” he added.
