BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA: Liam Payne was reportedly reworking his favorite song from his One Direction days, 'Fireproof', hours before his death, as per a source.

The former One Direction member died on Wednesday, October 16, after falling from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As per the autopsy, the 31-year-old died of "polytrauma and internal and external bleeding."

Insider says Liam Payne was looking forward to going home to Miami

A source who claimed to be close to Liam Payne told the Daily Mail, "He was replicating Fireproof on his computer. He loved recreating instrumentals and that was his favorite One Direction song. He was redoing the beat."

They added, "He was in a good place, planning for the future, looking forward to going home to Miami to his girlfriend and his dog."

"He didn't have to die. Liam didn't want to die. He had promised us all he would never commit suicide. He was looking forward to the future," shared the insider. 

He arrived in Argentina on September 30 with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy and close friend Roger Nores. Apart from attending his former bandmate Niall Horan's concert, Payne also hoped to renew his US visa which was about to expire. 

However, on visiting the US embassy in Buenos Aires he found out that the officials had looked him up on the internet and found out about his rehab previous rehab stints.

"They ordered him to do medical tests, see a doctor, do bloodwork and X-rays and see a psychiatrist and that was all done the first week. Liam thought the trip would only last a few days but because of all the tests he ended up getting stuck there," claimed the source.

Liam Payne reportedly made a chilling confession to a stranger named Rebecca, just hours before his tragic death. He said, "I used to be in a boy band. That’s why I’m so f*****d up," as per Daily Mail.

Rebecca shared that Payne was exhibiting "disturbing and weird behavior" during the brief interaction which left her shaken. She added that the former One Direction member initiated a conversation with her and a group of friends. He introduced himself and seemed desperate for recognition.

She further claimed Payne invited them into the hotel elevator and made inappropriate comments. "He said, 'Yes, I’m Liam!' and then, 'All right, come on you lot, get in the elevator with me, I love a cuddle,'" shared Rebecca. While she decided to stay back, a few others joined him.

Liam Payne allegedly procured drugs from a hotel staff before his tragic death, an insider informed People. Prosecutors apparently believe that the drugs that were found in the singer's room after his death were brought in by staff at the hotel.

The source claimed, "There appears to be evidence that a hotel employee sourced the drugs for Payne. An indictment for drugs distribution could follow shortly."

Moreover, Payne was allegedly involved in a tense confrontation with a mystery woman just hours before death. Michael Fleishmann, who spoke to the Buenos Aires Herald, said that Payne was seen in a "very tense" exchange with an unknown woman at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel around 2 pm on Wednesday.

Fleishmann added that Payne repeatedly offered the woman money, allegedly saying, "I’ll give you $20,000 dollars just because I can. I have $55 million and I like to help people."
