Liam Payne was with two mystery women hours before his fatal fall from Buenos Aires hotel balcony
BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA: Late One Direction singer Liam Payne was with two mystery women hours before his tragic death at the age of 31.
Payne died after falling from the balcony on the third floor of CasaSur hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday, October 16.
The two unidentified women who were in Payne's room hours before the fatal fall are considered "key witnesses," as per Daily Mail. However, they had left the hotel before the singer's death.
Mystery women reportedly not on the suspects' list
According to the Argentina prosecutor's office, two anonymous women and three workers from the hotel gave their statements. Both of them apparently waited for Payne in the Hotel lobby before his death but left the place without him.
However, no evidence suggested they were involved in any way in the former One Direction singer's death, but police said they could provide details about his last moment before he jumped from the hotel room's balcony.
Payne died on the spot at around 5 pm local time, succumbing to severe injuries that caused "internal and external hemorrhaging."
The 'Polaroid' singer's girlfriend Kate Cassidy was with him four days before the death, as she flew back to Florida, announcing on social media that the initially "five-day trip" turned into two weeks.
Liam Payne's forensic report indicates no involvement of third parties
Argentina's prosecutor's office stated that "everything indicates" Payne was unaccompanied before he plunged to death; however, an investigation was opened to find any "possible involvement of third parties in the events prior."
Nevertheless, the forensic report appeared to rule out the involvement of third parties as the autopsy suggested the injuries were similar to falling from a height.
According to detectives, Payne might have been semi-conscious or entirely unconscious when he fell in light of the substances found in his room that showed a "previous situation of alcohol and drug consumption."
The hotel room contained "narcotics, alcohol, destroyed objects and furniture."
One hotel guest revealed that he heard "violent noises" hours before Payne's fatal plunge from the balcony.
"I thought they were working on the room. There was a lot of noise, like heavy lifting, like banging, a lot of loud, violent noises, I thought," said Doug Jines, who stayed in the Casa Sur hotel to BBC.
The guest also noted that the hotel staff went in and out of Payne's room, and at around 4:45 pm and 5:00 pm, he heard a "violent scream."
In a statement, Liam's family said they were "heartbroken" by his untimely death.
"Liam will forever live in our hearts and we'll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time," the statement read.
