BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA: Liam Payne's ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole once called the former 'One Direction' member the "only man who never cheated on her."

Liam died on Wednesday, October 16, after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina, leaving behind his seven-year-old son Bear, whom he shared with Cheryl, per The Daily Mail.

In a 2018 interview with The Sunday Times' Style magazine, Cheryl told journalist Decca Aitkenhead that Liam "is the only man who has ever been faithful to her," shortly after their breakup.

She added that she had been disappointed by every important man in her life, including her father, brother, and ex-husbands, which left her with "zero" interest in a new relationship, according to the outlet.

She also mentioned that she would be happy staying single forever and referred to her son as "the man of her dreams." She said, "I do seriously think I might be, I do. I would never ever say never, obviously, but I have zero – I tell you, zero – desire to start up a new relationship."

Moreover, Cheryl has not publicly dated anyone since her relationship with Liam, which lasted for about two and a half years, from 2016 to 2018.

Cheryl Cole once stated that she didn’t need a man to expand her family and preferred the idea of using a sperm donor. In a 2020 interview with Times Magazine, she said, "If time was on my side and I was in my twenties, yeah, I would wait and consider more options, or wait for somebody I felt was right."

She added, "You could meet somebody and for that year it feels incredible, but there is never a guarantee because there are so many variables that can happen. Life is a funny old game."

Liam's ex had planned to have at least two more children and said she would look abroad for a donor. She joked, "Do you imagine some guy from Newcastle saying, 'That’s my child?'. There’s a lot to choose from and a lot to think about."
