LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Liam Payne’s final television appearance has been revealed in the newly released trailer for the upcoming Netflix series 'Building the Band'.

The music competition series follows 50 aspiring singers vying for a spot in self-made vocal groups.

The twist lies in their method of selection: contestants choose bandmates solely based on their voices before meeting face to face, as per the New York Post.

In the trailer released Tuesday, June 24, Payne is seen mentoring the hopefuls with advice drawn from his time in One Direction.

“You got a lot of work to do vocally,” he told one group. “I need to feel that connection between you guys,” Payne says in the clip.

Payne joined former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland on the judging panel, while former Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger served as a mentor. Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean hosted the show.

Reflecting on One Direction’s origin, Payne said in the trailer, “To have these bands put together is not normal. We were put together that way.”

The British boy band, formed in 2010 on 'The X Factor', included Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson. Malik exited the group in 2015, and the band went on indefinite hiatus the following year.
