Lily Allen’s messy split from 'cheating' husband David Harbour has been hard for her two daughters

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The reported separation of Lily Allen and her husband David Harbour has not just been hard for the English pop star but also for her two children.

Allen is the mother of two daughters — Marnie Rose, 12, and Ethel Mary, 13 — whom she shares with her ex-husband Sam Cooper. The two had been married from 2011 to 2018.

But now her second marriage has also come to an end after over four years of togetherness. The union reportedly collapsed after she found Harbour's secret profile on the celebrity dating app Raya.

Now, a tipster told PEOPLE, “She's devastated and not in a good place.”

They continued that “it’s been a bad start to the new year, but Lily is tough. She's very good at prioritizing herself when she has to.”

However, regarding the 39-year-old’s daughters, the tipster added that the split from Harbour has “been very hard for her girls” as well.

The children seemed to be quite close to Harbour, who himself in 2021 revealed that a conversation with them resulted in him getting married to the author.

He shared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, as per PEOPLE, “The little one was riding along and she was going like, 'David, dad, David, dad.' Because the D got her confused. And the older one got very upset with that, which I understand. She was like, 'He's not our dad! He's not our dad!’

He continued, “And then the younger one was like, 'Well what is he? He's kind of our dad.' She's like, 'No he's not, he's our stepdad.' And she goes, 'What is he?' And she goes, 'He's just some guy in our lives!’”

Also, in 2022, Harbour told British GQ that he found Allen an “extraordinary person” and that’s why he decided to marry her.

The ‘Stranger Things’ star said, “I remember the exact moment. It was our third date. I was in this phase where I was like, 'I'm just going to be brutally honest about everything,' because why lie? And I told her something about my life, about my beliefs.”

“It would take a really extraordinary person to be accepting of the things that I said. And I remember thinking: Wow, that's somebody I want to be around,” he added.
