Lily James and Glen Powell spark dating rumors after they're spotted leaving pre-BAFTA party together

LONDON, ENGLAND: Lily James has found herself in the middle of some serious dating speculations after sharing a cab with former co-star and Hollywood’s latest heartthrob, Glen Powell, over the weekend in London.

James and Powell, who co-starred in Mike Newell's 2018 period piece, 'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society', were spotted exiting the Charles Finch and Chanel Pre-BAFTA Party together on Saturday, February 15.

Before Glen Powell, 36, cemented his name as a leading man in Hollywood through his movies like 'Anyone But You' and 'Hit Man', he appeared in a secondary role in the 2018 movie where Lily James, 35, essayed the female lead.

In the movie, based on the 2008 novel of the same name by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows, Powell portrayed Mark Reynolds, the lover of James' character Juliet Ashton. But the pair broke up when Juliet decided to travel to the island of Guernsey. 

Nevertheless, more than six years after the film, as the 'Twisters' star and James were photographed together leaving the party, fans were left speculating if a new romance was brewing in the tinsel town.

The rumors started after Daily Mail obtained photos of the duo leaving the private members club Loulou's together and getting into a car. The duo was seen chatting and smiling together in the car's back seat. 

Not only did the duo look extremely happy with each other, but the sources also shared that Powell was the epitome of chivalric behavior as he gave his gray suit jacket to the 'Cinderella' actress while walking towards the car.

In the photos, James was seen draping the blazer over her shoulders as they settled down inside the cab, as reported by She Knows. 

The outlet further confirmed that both actors are currently single.

The 'Top Gun: Maverick' star was in a relationship with Gigi Paris for three years before they parted ways in April 2023. The 'Rebecca' actress, who started dating musician Michael Shuman in 2021, too broke up with her boyfriend in the same year in February.

One of the social media users even tried formulating a portmanteau word for the pair, as they wrote on X, "Lily James and Glen Powell leaving the pre-BAFTA party (which could mean nothing) but they make perfect sense to me actually! Len… Gily… Jowell… Pames… gotta work on their celeb portmanteau tho."

Someone else added, while referencing their film together, "Sooo glen powell and lily james project where their characters actually get together this time when? 👀."

Another fan simply stated with underlying implication, "Big day for fans of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society."

Someone else, meanwhile, jokingly noted, "I actually know what this means." 

"OMGGGG NO WAY !!!!," added an exuberant fan, before declaring, "I loved that movie so much!"
