LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lindsay Lohan, who famously portrayed Cady Heron in the original 2004 'Mean Girls' film, has revealed her disappointment with a joke featured in the new 'Mean Girls' movie musical.

Despite joining writer and former co-star Tina Fey at the red carpet premiere in New York City to support the film, Lohan, 37, expressed her displeasure with a particular line of dialogue.

According to a representative for the actress, Lohan was "very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film."

The mentioned line, delivered by rapper Megan Thee Stallion in a social media montage, includes the phrase "Y2K fire crotch is back," making an apparent nod to a controversial 2006 paparazzi video where Lohan was referred to as a "fire crotch".

As the new 'Mean Girls' movie musical hit theaters, one unexpected surprise delighted fans—the return of Lindsay Lohan. Lohan, who played the lead role of Cady Heron in the original 2004 film, made a surprise cameo in the new adaptation.

Tina Fey, who reprises her role as Ms Norbury and serves as the screenwriter and producer for the film, shared insights into making Lohan's cameo happen.

Paramount expressed a desire for original cast members, and Fey saw Lohan's return as crucial.

Fey explained, "Paramount was like, 'Can you get any of the original ladies? And I was like, 'I can't fit five people in.' I felt like if I could only get one person as a surprise, the original movie is really Lindsay's movie. As great as they all are, she's the heart of that movie."

She added, "And I thought, well, what could she do? I didn't think [she should] play a teacher. I was trying to think of something that you wouldn't expect. And just to have her do that late in the movie, it also feels like it comes, I hope, at a time where fans weren't expecting one more little surprise. It also lets her be smart, which Cady is."

Lindsay Lohan faces backlash for disliking joke

Lindsay Lohan, who made a surprise cameo in the new 'Mean Girls' movie musical, has found herself at the center of online criticism after expressing her displeasure over a particular joke included in the film.

People quickly took to social media to share their opinions on Lohan's reaction.

One user criticized the media's attempt to hype up the movie, predicting it would fall short of the original's caliber. Another user expressed amusement at individuals getting upset over the situation.

"So pathetic that the mainstream media is trying to hype this movie up so much... but it will fall flat soon enough... it will never be at the caliber that the OG Mean Girls was and still is...I find it hysterical when other ignorant individuals chime in and get mad," one user commented.

In response to Lohan's reported disappointment, another user suggested that she "finally grew up but lost her sense of humor".

Another user wrote, "Then grow some thicker skin."
