WASHINGTON, DC: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is attracting sharp criticism after new records revealed thousands of dollars from campaign funds allegedly spent on psychiatric consulting.

The detail about her spending quickly became fodder for conservative commentator Link Lauren.

Zeroing in on the expenses, Lauren, on Monday, March 23, argued that the use of campaign funds raises serious questions not just about priorities, but about accountability to small-dollar donors.

Link Lauren expresses shock at AOC's spending

Breaking down the numbers, Lauren highlighted the scale and nature of the payments, saying “AOC, is in some hot water right now because, according to new filings, she allegedly spent $19,000 on a therapist that specializes in ketamine treatment.”

He then walked through the details “So her campaign paid nearly $19,000 to a psychiatrist known for ketamine treatments last year, listing the payments as leadership training and consulting. Now, her committee sent three payments, totaling $18,725 across 2025.”

Lauren emphasized the background of the provider as well saying “They apparently hired this doctor, the chief psychiatric officer at Stella, a chain of mental health clinics focusing on novel therapies popular with Hollywood and Wall Street.”

From there, his tone sharpened significantly.

“Let me just tell you, okay, when AOC is spending $19,000 on ketamine treatments and therapy, it might be time for her to pack it up. It might be time for AOC to pack it up.”

Link Lauren questions AOC's 'hypocrisy'

Lauren framed the issue as a disconnect between AOC and her base, stressing that many of her supporters are working-class voters contributing small amounts.

“When you're spending $19,000 from your constituents who are giving you their hard-earned money, they're people making minimum wage, bartending like AOC used to do, working in restaurants, hustling, working for the post office, they're going to give you $10, $20, $30 if they can to support you because they believe in your message.”

He argued that such spending demands justification. “So spending $19,000 on anything, it better be darn important.”

The internet personality then broadened the criticism to Democrats more generally, saying, “But this is who the Democrats are. They will blow your money and then laugh and not care whatsoever.”

Lauren went further, questioning Ocasio-Cortez’s public persona and consistency.

“Now, in my opinion, I think AOC could benefit from some therapy. She seems a little confused on where she stands sometimes. She'll be great one minute. The second, she's fumbling and falling down, and she can't even form coherent sentences.”

He added that the therapy payments are not an isolated issue, pointing to previous criticisms of her spending.

“But this isn't the first time. AOC has been caught spending frivolous, exorbitant amounts of cash.”

Bringing up her appearances with Bernie Sanders, he said “If you remember, AOC and Bernie Sanders spent tons of money on private jets on her 'Fighting the Oligarchy' tour. So she's fighting the oligarchy, but she's spending $15,000 an hour on private jets with Bernie Sanders.”
