Linkin Park's lineup and album announcement

Alongside Emily Armstrong, Linkin Park also introduced Colin Brittain, a songwriter and producer who is known for his work with artists like G Flip, Illenium, and One OK Rock, as their new drummer.

This marks the band's first significant lineup change since the 2017 death of lead vocalist Chester Bennington.

The new members join the existing lineup of Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, Brad Delson, and Phoenix.

During the live event, the band also premiered a new single titled 'The Emptiness Machine' which will be their first new music release in seven years.

This track is the lead single from their upcoming album 'From Zero' scheduled for release on November 15 via Warner Records.

This album will be the band’s first full-length release of 'One More Light,' the final album featuring Bennington.

According to Mike Shinoda, the album title 'From Zero' is a nod to the band’s initial days when they were originally known as Xero, symbolizing a journey from their roots to the present.

Linkin Park's upcoming arena tour and live performance

In addition to the release of their new music, Linkin Park announced a six-date arena tour that will take them to major cities across the globe, including Los Angeles, New York, London, Hamburg, Seoul, and Bogota.

The live performance event, which marked the first time the new lineup performed together on Thursday, September 5, was held at a studio lot in Los Angeles, California for ticketed fans who were transported by buses.

Speaking about the new era as Linkin Park is making a comeback, Shinoda expressed enthusiasm for the new direction the band is taking.

“Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life,” he shared.

Shinoda emphasized that Linkin Park's new album was made with a deep appreciation for both their new and longtime bandmates, friends, family, and fans.

He stated that the band feels “really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together.”

Linkin Park is “weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones,” he added.
