Lip reader decodes Mariah Carey's daughter's comment to brother during iHeartRadio Music Awards tribute

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Mariah Carey was honored with the Icon Award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday, March 17, marking the addition of another feather in her ever-expanding crown of glory.
While the 55-year-old had already created ripples over her expression when her name was announced, she was not the only one in her family to get attention on the Internet. As the "Queen of Christmas" was honored at the awards ceremony, her daughter Monroe was seen whispering something to her brother Moroccan.
A lip reader seems to have decoded what the siblings were talking about.

While the songstress seemed less than thrilled as a video montage chronicling her career played and fellow artists Muni Long and Tori Kelly performed a medley of her songs, the camera briefly showed her twins and Anderson .Paak sitting beside her.

A lip-reading expert revealed that at that moment, Monroe was trying to get her brother into singing to the tunes. Lipreader.co.uk revealed to The Mirror US that the 13-year-old gave her brother, a simple command, saying, "Sing."
Not willing to participate in the celebration, Moroccan gave a simple headshake and declined to take part.
Monroe, nevertheless, remained unperturbed, as she went on to sing along the tunes.
The 'Fantasy' singer welcomed her twins with her ex-husband, Nick Cannon, in April 2011.
Mariah Carey previously said her children Monroe and Moroccan 'really love performing'
While Moroccan seemed unenthusiastic about joining the celebration on Monday, that's not always the case, according to his mother in past interviews.
In December 2024, the ‘Obsessed’ singer admitted that she is "happy" that her children like to perform with her, as per Blast.

While speaking to People, Carey added, "I think they're both very talented and smart and if they want to pursue having a life as an entertainer, then I think they should. It's a hard kind of life, but they seem to really love performing, so I'm happy for them."
The twins, whom Carey affectionately calls "dem babies" as well as "Roc and Roe" first appeared in a music video with her when they were just 10 years old. They collaborated with their mother in her music video for 'Fall in Love at Christmas' and later performed at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
