LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lizzo, 36, opened up about her relationship and wellness journey during a recent podcast appearance.

Lizzo reveals boyfriend Myke Wright changed how she views weight loss
While appearing on 'On Purpose' with Jay Shetty on April 7, Lizzo said her boyfriend was the first to challenge the way she talked about losing weight.
"My man, he's so funny. He was the one that brought it to my attention at first. Because at first I was like, 'Oh my gosh I lost five pounds' and he was like, 'Where did it go?'" said Lizzo per People.

She added, "I was mad at him, I was like, 'Why would he say that?' but he was like, 'Where did it go?'"
'The Good as Hell' singer then shared how that moment made her think differently about her goals. "I realized I didn't want to lose anything — I wanted to win," she said.
Lizzo wants to be 'very intentional' with her words for young people
Lizzo spoke about how her words and actions could impact others, especially her younger fans.
"I want to be very intentional about the words that come out of my mouth because there's young people who are watching me and they're experiencing what I'm putting into the world," said Lizzo.
"They're applying it to their own experience and their own life just like I did when I was a kid," the '2 Be Loved' singer added.
She reflected on how her upbringing shaped her mindset around weight and image.
"When I was growing up, I noticed how the media treated people who gained and lost weight — and that impacted my brain chemistry," the Truth Hurts' singer added.

"Be careful with your words because it can affect somebody in ways you don't even know," Lizzo said.
"Even me releasing the weight has affected people and I take that seriously. I take that responsibility. And because of that I want to transmute it into something that makes people feel comfortable and less afraid of it," she continued.

In a March 2024 interview with The New York Times, she said, "I'm taking the time every day to put some love into my body. There is never a day when I regret taking a walk or doing some Pilates."
"I've been methodical, losing weight very slowly," Lizzo added. She also addressed those who questioned her intentions. "My body is nobody’s business."
Lizzo and Wright made their relationship public in April 2022 during an interview with Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM show Radio Andy.
Later, in December 2022, on 'The Howard Stern Show', Lizzo shared, "I am very much in love with Myke. 100 percent. There’s nobody else I’m going to be with for the rest of my life."
