NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The lawyer for Lizzo’s backup dancers is terming it “shameful” that the pop star has been asked to perform for President Joe Biden’s $25 million fundraiser.

On Thursday, March 28, Lizzo performed at the Radio City Music Hall on her hit song ‘About Damn Time’ before the arrival of President Joe Biden along with his Democratic predecessors Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

However, Lizzo’s performance was not welcomed by all as the lawyer representing the 35-year-old singer’s three backup dancers called the event “shameful.”

In August 2023, Lizzo was sued by three of her former backup dancers - Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez. The trio accused the pop star of creating a hostile environment for work that included allegations like weight shaming and inappropriate sexual behaviors.

Now the lawyer representing Davis, Williams, and Rodriguez is slamming the organizers for booking the ‘Good as Hell’ singer - who recently showcased her slimmer figure while modeling shapewear from her brand Yitty - to headline an event of this magnitude.

Ron Zambrano, the lawyer representing the backup dancers, recently told NewsNation, “It's shameful that Lizzo would be chosen to headline an event like this amid such egregious allegations," per Daily Mail.

Zambrano continued, “Without getting into the politics, I can't imagine why anyone would want Lizzo representing them in any way given her reprehensible behavior. It's just a terrible look.”

Lizzo says 'I quit'

Following her performance, the 'Rumors' singer shocked her fans by suddenly announcing that she is quitting as she is "getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone."

In an Instagram post on Friday night, Lizzo penned a heartfelt note as she wrote, “I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet."

“All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it," continued the 'Truth Hurts' singer.

She added that she is continuously fighting the "lies" that are being told about her by the "people who don’t know" her, per Today.

She wrote, “But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it,” before adding, “I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views.”

The songstress continued to share with her fans that she is always subjected to “being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look... my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name."

She concluded by stating, “I didn’t sign up for this s**t,” before adding emphatically, “I QUIT.”
