LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: American rapper and DJ Lord Jamar has explained why the internet is buzzing with theories about Jay-Z being the next to face a downfall following the arrest of fellow rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs.

The 56-year-old Jamar, a founding member of the hip-hop group Brand Nubian, recently appeared in ‘The Art of Dialogue’ podcast, where he explained his theory.

Since Diddy's arrest in September, the Bad Boy Records founder's friendship with Jay-Z has been under scrutiny.

Lord Jamar discusses the likelihood of Jay-Z being next in line for controversy

Appearing on the October 4 episode of the podcast, Lord Jamar discussed what he believes may lead to Jay-Z’s downfall.

The host asked Jamar, "50 going at Diddy hard, man. But how do you feel about the people that are saying Jay-Z is next?"

Jamar responded, "You know, I will say that Jay-Z, if he was doing ill like that, he was more quiet about it. You know what I mean?”

Jamar went on to highlight that the 'Young Forever' rapper began dating Beyonce when she was just 18 years old and still a member of Destiny's Child.

Jamar said, “But then if we be real with ourselves, it was kinda abnormal when he got with Beyonce. She was pretty young when he got with her."

Just a day before Jamar’s appearance on 'The Art of Dialogue', singer Jaguar Wright made an explosive claim during an interview with Piers Morgan, stating that "Diddy and Jay-Z are monsters."

While Diddy was arrested on September 16 on charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, allegations against Jay-Z remain largely unproven.

However, referencing Wright's remarks, Jamar said, “I feel like your girl Jaguar Wright might have been one of the first to really put his name out there,” before cautiously adding, “I don't know enough."

He continued, "I'm not going to lie. When certain people get to a certain level of fame, I don't know why, but you start to hear little s**t about certain people sometimes. If you really think about most of your top celebrities, Black celebrities, rappers… I feel like I've heard a rumor damn near about all of them.”

He further reiterated, “Have I heard a little s**t about Jay-Z? Yup."

Despite the criticism, Beyonce and Jay-Z tied the knot in 2008 after seven years of dating.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs slapped Jay-Z in a resurfaced 2007 video

Lord Jamar's explosive claims about Jay-Z followed just days after an old video of a strange interaction between Jay-Z and Sean 'Diddy' Combs resurfaced online.

The footage, from the 2007 Screamfest music festival, captured an awkward onstage moment between the 'Coming Home' rapper and the 'Numb/Encore' hitmaker.

The video features Diddy, flanked by TI, 50 Cent, and Jay-Z, playfully slapping his friend's bottom twice.

Sharing the video in a since-deleted Instagram post, 50 Cent commented, "Diddy in the back, pattin on n****s butts. Nah I ain't wit it, I ain't never been wit it." [sic]
