Reports indicate the altercation started when a rogue water balloon struck the 80-year-old actor's vintage car during the Sunland-Tujunga, California parade celebrating America's birthday.

Trejo and his companions reacted strongly to the incident by jumping out of the classic car and confronting the wrong individuals which led to a brief brawl, TMZ reported.
Video footage shows Trejo being restrained by several men during the altercation.
According to the New York Post, Trejo was seen rising from the ground amid the altercation, seizing a green foldable chair, and hurling it toward the rowdy brawlers.
Shortly thereafter, a woman rushed up behind the actor and restrained him, with others arriving to assist in keeping him under control.
Despite objections and pleading from onlookers about the presence of children, Trejo continued to express his frustration at the perpetrators.

Law enforcement received reports of the fight but by the time they arrived, the crowd had dispersed and no arrests were made, according to TMZ.
Trejo then expressed bewilderment at being targeted for no apparent reason and expressed disappointment that the incident marred what should have been a joyful parade experience.
He criticized the perpetrators as "cowards" and labeled the water balloon incident as "childish", noting that some of the individuals involved were in their thirties.
