Machine Gun Kelly reveals 'epic story' behind his and Megan Fox's daughter Saga's name
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Machine Gun Kelly is opening up about the unique name he and Megan Fox chose for their newborn daughter, whom they welcomed in March.
The name, Saga Blade Fox-Baker, was recently revealed by the musician in an Instagram post, and he shared the meaning behind it during a live interview on the 'Today' show on Friday, June 20.

Machine Gun Kelly explained that the name reflects the emotional and spiritual journey leading up to their daughter's birth.
"I think her journey, you know, the five years of kind of her culmination of coming, disappearing, coming back again, disappearing, coming back again," he said.

"She is an epic story. That's what saga means," the 'Rap Devil' hitmaker added.
He also tied the name to his personal roots, saying, "That's the Nordic goddess of storytelling," adding that Saga daughter has “a storytelling future ahead of her.”
Kelly, born Colson Baker, shared a touching video of Saga on Instagram on Tuesday. In the clip, he strums a ukulele while the baby rests in a rocker.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly first mentioned middle name ‘Blade’ years before daughter's birth
The choice of the middle name “Blade” goes back to a 2021 GQ Couples Quiz where Megan Fox asked Machine Gun Kelly what he thought his middle name should be, since he didn’t have one.
“Can I guess what your middle name would be?” Fox asked in the clip, before answering, “Blade.” A visibly thrilled Kelly responded, “That's what I want," as per Parade.
Saga is the couple’s first child together. Fox also shares three sons — Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, eight — with her ex-husband Brian Austin Green. Kelly has a 15-year-old daughter, Casie, with ex Emma Cannon.
Fox and Kelly met on the set of 'Midnight' in the Switchgrass in 2020 and got engaged in January 2022. Despite separating in 2024, after Fox found something on his phone, they have continued to focus on co-parenting.

Shortly after, Kelly posted an update about his upcoming album on X (formerly Twitter) writing, “Isolating myself in the desert next week to restart this album from scratch... Don’t worry. After all, I’m about to be a dad again!”

While the couple appears to be getting along as parents, sources have shared that reconciliation is not on the horizon.
One insider told Us Weekly, “The former couple is absolutely not getting back together at this point in time,” but Fox is “grateful” for Kelly's presence as a father.
The baby currently lives full-time with Fox, and Kelly “comes and goes,” spending several nights a week with their daughter. “She makes the rules,” the source said, adding that Kelly is “very aware of this.”
Shortly after the birth of their daughter, a tipster told People, "It feels magical to her that she now has a baby girl too. She’s doing great and over the moon about her baby girl."
They added, "At this point, she plans on co-parenting with Colson, but that’s it. She won’t be getting back together with him."
