Madonna teases fans with enormous diamond ring in pics with BF but Internet says she 'bought it herself'

TOKYO, JAPAN: Madonna, the Queen of Pop, showcased a massive diamond ring on her finger while enjoying a moment with her boyfriend, Jamaican soccer player Akeem Morris.

The stunning piece of jewelry made several appearances in her New Year’s Eve Instagram carousel, which she shared on Thursday, January 2.

However, as expected with the ever-mysterious star, not everyone is convinced by the gesture.

Madonna rang in 2025 at 1 Oak Tokyo with Morris, 28, and four of her six children - daughter Lourdes Leon, 28, son Rocco Ritchie, 24, son David Banda, 19, and daughter Chifundo “Mercy” James, 18.

Her twin daughters, Stella and Estere Ciccone, 12, seemingly joined the festivities earlier in the evening, Page Six reported.

Dressed in an all-black outfit and accessorized with a leather conductor-style hat, Madonna ensured that her enormous solitaire diamond ring, set on a distinctive gold band by jewelry designer Julie Y Kim, was visible in many of the photos.

In one image, as she and Morris walked down a hallway, Madonna held out her left hand prominently to highlight the sparkling ring.

Kim shared the photo on her own page, captioning it, “Kiss the ring ;).” Madonna's caption also mentioned that she spent the day at the Mori Art Museum, where she was deeply moved by the Louise Bourgeois exhibition.

The Grammy-winning artist included a quote from Bourgeois in her caption, “I have been to hell and back and let me tell you it was wonderful!”

“She took the words right out of my mouth,” the “Material Girl” hitmaker went on to say. “To be a Mother and an Artist- Equal parts, joy, and suffering. I can’t imagine living any other life.”

Madonna concluded her remarks by raising “a glass to anyone who has the courage to be Their authentic selves. 🍷🧎‍♀️♥️.”

The "Like a Prayer" hitmaker, who was previously married to Sean Penn from 1985 to 1989 and Guy Ritchie from 2000 to 2008, subtly introduced Morris in July 2024. The couple celebrated both Thanksgiving and Christmas/Hanukkah with her family.
