Marcus Jordan breaks silence following DUI and drug possession arrest, expresses gratitude for support

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Marcus Jordan took to Instagram Stories on Thursday, February 6, to acknowledge the public concern following his arrest earlier in the week.

The former college basketball player and reality TV personality was taken into custody on Tuesday, February 4, on charges of driving under the influence, cocaine possession, and resisting arrest.

Marcus Jordan's statement after DUI arrest

In his Instagram Story, referring to his Florida-based sneaker boutique, Marcus Jordan wrote, “I appreciate everyone reaching out. I’m focusing on @trophyroomstore right now and won’t be making any comments on recent media stories and my personal life."

“I sincerely appreciate your concerns & thank you for your kind understanding,” he added.

Jordan was booked in Orange County, Florida after being arrested by Maitland Police.

According to a report from TMZ, officers encountered Jordan’s blue sports car stuck on train tracks, prompting them to approach the vehicle.

Body camera footage released by the Maitland Police Department and published by WFAA-TV provided insight into the arrest.

The footage showed officers instructing Jordan to exit the vehicle, warning him of an oncoming train.

“I know, that’s why I’m trying to get the f**k out of here,” Jordan can be heard responding.

The video also captures Jordan referencing his famous father while speaking to police, stating, “I’m Marcus Jordan. I’m Michael Jordan’s son. I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m just trying to get home. And I made a wrong turn. Okay?”

“The last thing I wanted to do is put my car on the tracks. Obviously, it’s a $330,000 car. Why would I want to be on the tracks?” he later added.

Police report states Marcus Jordan's eyes were 'bloodshot and glassy'

According to an official police report obtained by People, officers noted that Jordan’s eyes were “bloodshot and glassy,” and he appeared “confused about his location.”

The report further indicated that Jordan insisted his blood alcohol content was below the legal limit of .08 but failed to complete three field sobriety tests.

Additionally, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol and noted that Jordan became “agitated and irritated quickly” during interactions.

Upon searching his person, authorities found a small plastic bag containing a white substance in his pocket, which later tested positive for cocaine.

Jordan was subsequently detained and booked with a bond set at $4,000 for his release.

His next court appearance has yet to be scheduled, and it remains unclear whether he plans to fight the charges.
