PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA: Mariah Carey, famous for her holiday classic ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’, has upset and worried fans by canceling her highly anticipated Christmas concert in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, just hours before it was scheduled to begin.

The singer, currently on her Christmas Time tour, was set to perform at the PPG Paints Arena on December 11. However, she announced the abrupt cancellation on the X platform, attributing it to health concerns.

On December 12, Mariah Carey shared a heartfelt note with her 21.3 million followers on her official X account. The hitmaker apologized to her Pittsburgh fans, writing: "Pittsburgh, I am sorry to say," before explaining her health struggles: "I’ve come down with the flu."

 

She expressed her disappointment, saying, "It breaks my heart that I unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show." Ending her message with love, she wrote, "I love you all so much." The tweet quickly gained traction, racking up over 188k views within hours.

 

Carey's Christmas Time tour is set to resume on December 13 in Newark, NJ, though no updates have been provided regarding upcoming performances. While fans are understandably upset, many have extended their well wishes for her swift recovery.

Just days earlier, Carey celebrated her hit song 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' reclaiming the number-one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 during a performance in Raleigh, NC. The concert featured a heartfelt moment when her 13-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, joined her on stage.

 

She later shared the touching moment on Instagram, saying, "Last night on stage in Raleigh, North Carolina, I found out that All I Want For Christmas Is You to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100."

Mariah Carey's fans express concern after singer cancels show due to illness

Upon hearing about Mariah Carey's health struggles, several users quickly took to social media to share their comments.

One user wrote, "Get well soon MC I know how much u wanted to celebrate with all ur fans." 

A disappointed fan shared a GIF of an animated character leaning against a wall in the rain, captioning it, "Me outside of PPG Arena rn."

One more fan said, "Omg I'm heartbroken to hear this (that's the bad part about the cold season 😭) take care of yourself ♥️🦋🙏🏼♥️."  

One shocked fan said, "OH NOOOOO GET WELL SOON!!!!! 💖💖."
