WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene revealed on 60 Minutes that many of her Republican colleagues are petrified of crossing President Donald Trump because one nasty Truth Social post from him could end their careers.

The Georgia congresswoman, 51, sat down with CBS veteran Lesley Stahl on Sunday night, December 7, with Stahl asking point-blank if GOP lawmakers were “afraid” of how Trump, 79, might react if they stepped out of line.

“I think they are terrified to step out of line and get a nasty Truth Social post on them,” Greene said.

With all the public support for Trump among Republicans on Capitol Hill, Stahl asked Greene, "Behind the scenes, do they talk differently?"

“Oh, it would shock people,” Greene teased.

“Well, let’s shock people,” Stahl remarked.

Greene explained, “I watched many of my colleagues go from making fun of him, making fun of how he talks, making fun of me constantly for supporting him, to when he won the primary in 2024, they all started — excuse my language, Lesley — kissing his ass, and decided to put on a MAGA hat for the first time.”

MTG says many Republicans avoided criticizing Trump because they were “terrified” of getting a “nasty Truth Social post on them.”

The White House has not commented on her remarks, but Trump torched Greene on Truth Social minutes after the interview aired, calling her a “Rotten Apple” and a “very dumb person.”

In November, Trump withdrew his endorsement of Greene, claiming she had “lost her way," and branded her a “traitor” after she said she was “being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hotbed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene's exit from Congress over Epstein files blowup

The interview was Greene’s first major appearance since announcing last month that she would quit Congress in January 2026. The former MAGA loyalist, who has represented Georgia’s 14th district since 2021, said she was tired of the “unfair” treatment from her own party.

Greene said the final straw was her push to release every last Jeffrey Epstein document, a move that apparently left Trump furious.

She described a heated phone call with the former president, “We did talk about the Epstein files, and he was extremely angry at me that I had signed the discharge petition to release the files," she said.

Trump had attempted to block the bill but signed it after it passed both the House and Senate. The new law forces the Justice Department to release all Epstein documents within 30 days, including details on his controversial 2019 jailhouse death.

“I fully believe those women deserve everything they’re asking,” Greene said of Epstein’s victims. “They’re asking for all of it to come out. They deserve it. And he was furious with me.”

When Stahl asked exactly what Trump said, Greene recounted, “He said that it was going to hurt people.”
