Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed online as she labels critics calling Trump an 'insurrectionist' liars
NEW YOR CITY, NEW YORK: House Republicans unveiled a resolution on February 5 aimed at definitively stating that Donald Trump did not partake in insurrection or rebellion.
In a recent statement, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) also appeared to suggest that labeling the events of January 6 as an insurrection while not applying the same label to the security measures surrounding President Joe Biden's inauguration was dishonest.

Marjorie Taylor Greene calls out media's double standards
Greene asserted that the extensive security measures, including 30,000 National Guard troops, during Biden's inauguration did not receive the same characterization from the press.
She criticized the perceived silence of the media on this matter, implying a double standard in the coverage of the two events.
Greene further asserted that anyone labeling President Trump or individuals involved in the January 6 events as "insurrectionists" is being dishonest.
She contended that such individuals are undeserving of the authority they hold, condemning the use of the term "insurrectionist" to describe Trump or any of their colleagues.
In the wake of her public statement, internet users have taken to X/Twitter to express their views, with one writing, "You’re insurrectionists", under Greene's clip.

If it wasn’t an insurrection why did Marjorie Taylor Greene seek a presidential pardon the day after Jan 6? A pardon is an admission of guilt to a crime. Is she the pipe bomber?

GOP introduces resolution to counter Colorado court's insurrection ruling against Trump
According to C-Span, this move comes just ahead of the Supreme Court's scheduled oral arguments on February 8 regarding an appeal related to a ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court.
The state court had determined that the former president engaged in insurrection on January 6, 2021, and therefore is constitutionally ineligible to run for president.
The resolution, introduced by Rep Matt Gaetz (R-Fla) and conference chair Rep Elise Stefanik (R-NY), has garnered support from 63 cosponsors in the House.
Additionally, Senator JD Vance (R-Ohio) plans to introduce a corresponding bill in the Senate.
This legislation aims to push back against efforts to prevent Trump from appearing on the 2024 election ballots due to his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
During a press conference, Rep Gaetz, alongside several of Trump's staunch supporters in Congress, emphasized that the resolution aims to counter what they perceive as attempts to remove a popular candidate from the ballot out of fear of his popularity.
During the press conference, Representative Lauren Boebert (R-Colo) put forth false conspiracy theories, asserting that the 2020 election was rigged.
She labeled the case against Trump as a "witch hunt" and blamed what she described as the "woke mob," "fake news," and leftist government officials for engaging in what she termed as "extortion."
