NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene called for Republicans to stop providing funds for the state of New York after the Manhattan Criminal Court convicted former President Donald Trump in the criminal hush money trial on Thursday, May 30.

Speaking with Steve Bannon on his podcast 'War Room', Greene further accused House Speaker Mike Johnson of betraying the presumptive GOP nominee and helping the Democrats to prosecute him.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweet

Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, June 1, the US Representative from Georgia shared a clip from her interview with Bannon, where the host is seen asking her if she felt that Speaker Johnson was "lying" to Trump and "not doing everything" to help him.

Greene answers in the affirmative and goes on to claim that Johnson "was helping the Biden administration. He fully funded the Department of Justice. He fully funded the entire attack against President Trump ... He can stand and say whatever he wants, but his words no longer matter."

"The only things that matter are his actions going forward," she continues. "The only thing that matters from the Republican Party to the American people are Republican actions going forward."

Greene argues in the clip that "the American people turned a corner" after witnessing the conviction of Trump, and has decided that New York "doesn't deserve damn a penny."

"We should not fund them one single dime, because New York ... released a monster, an illegal alien, that then traveled down to Georgia and murdered Laken Riley. Yet they convicted President Trump of 34 fake felony charges? ... The state of New York is the one that carries on crime and violence and corruption. They don't deserve a penny from the federal government. That's what Speaker Jonson can do," she charges.

Internet trolls Marjorie Taylor Greene for her tweet

"Your tantrum is sad," a user wrote on X in response to Greene's post.

"He was convicted by a jury of his peers," another wrote of Trump, then telling MTG, "Stop the crying . Face the truth."

"Marge's meltdown continues," jibed one.

"New York isn't Georgia. It has it's own money," mocked a user.

"MTG should not be paid," chided another.
