LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Businessman and billionaire Mark Cuban shared his reasons for believing that NBA superstar LeBron James isn't suited to be an NBA team owner during an interview on Friday, September 27.

Cuban, who co-owns the Dallas Mavericks, used Michael Jordan's stint with the Charlotte Hornets to give a warning to James about how things might turn out, per Pulse Sport.

During an interview with American football legend Shannon Sharpe on the 'Club Shay Shay' podcast, Mark Cuban explained why James cannot be a good NBA team owner.

He said, "It is going to be a lot harder. It’s a lot harder for a player as we saw with Michael Jordan. Great guy and he had some success but not as much as he wanted. It’s hard because players have one mindset and they look at other players in certain ways."

He added, "It is a completely different perspective to disconnect from. It is hard to be objective and have your player mindset. When you see general managers that were former players, it is the role players that make great managers and not great players."

Meanwhile, James has earlier expressed his desire to own an NBA team and described it as his lifelong dream. He told Forbes in October 2022, "I would love to bring a team here at some point, that would be amazing."

Moreover, if James realizes his dream, he would become only the second former NBA player to own one of the league's franchises.

Cuban also boldly predicted during the interview that NBA players could soon earn unprecedented salaries of $100 million annually, per Marca

Cuban said, "You’re gonna see $100 million a year here shortly. You’re gonna have players making more than the owners. That’s okay. There is no league without them."
