WASHINGTON, DC: Mark Cuban has revealed that if he was in Elon Musk's place as DOGE chief, he too would downsize the administration.

Speaking on a recent episode of ‘The Lincoln Project Podcast’, he said, “Trying to cut the size of government... and cutting a lot of people for better or worse, comes with the territory."

“You can’t make the government smaller and not cut hundreds of thousands, if not, you know, some significant number,” he stated.

But the businessman also noted that the “shock and awe is great, but if there’s no plan behind shock and awe, it’s just shock and awful.”

Further during the podcast, Cuban told host Rick Wilson that shrinking government size is good but he’s not happy with the way it has been handled by current leaders.

The billionaire claimed, “What they’ve done is ready, fire, aim,” without avoiding “chaos and economic uncertainty.”

“They’re cutting the forestry service and a lot of those people live in small towns in the state of Washington or the state of Oregon, and now all of a sudden, those towns, their economies are decimated,” he said.

Mark Cuban not planning to run for office

The 66-year-old television personality also revealed during the podcast that he does not aim to run for office but his social status enables him to speak frankly and directly without being concerned about its consequences.

Cuban stated, “I got rich as f**k, so I didn't have to care what anybody thought. I'm focused on doing something I think is very beneficial, which is Cost Plus Drugs and changing health care and trying to save lives and save money.”

Besides, he claimed that he donates money to politicians not based on which party they belonged to but to their ideas.

“Either my ideas hold up and you think there’s value in them or they don’t. And if they don’t, that’s fine too,” Cuban added.

This came after in March, Mark Cuban blasted Musk’s DOGE’s changes to Social Security. In a tweet, Cuban wrote, “Got to give Doge credit for being the first to cut entitlements.”

“End telephone support for Social Security, cut dozens of SS offices and make Grandma and Grandpa finally get online to confirm their payments. What an amazing back door way to cut payments! Gonna be some upset seniors at town halls!”
