LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Martha Stewart shared an emotional update about her beloved French Bulldog, Creme Brulee, after an urgent medical situation required surgery.

Creme Brulee's emergency surgery and recovery

Following a visit to her veterinarian, Dr Jean Quaintance, Martha Stewart was referred to the Animal Eye Clinic in Wilton, Connecticut, where specialists diagnosed Creme Brulee with a deep ulcerated eye infection, according to Daily Mail.

Fortunately, no tumors were found, but doctors recommended removing the affected eye.

Creme Brulee underwent surgery where an artificial eyeball was inserted, and the eye socket was stitched up.

The dog was released the same day and, according to Stewart, has "recovered beautifully."

“Yesterday the stitches were removed and the operation declared a success!” she wrote in her heartfelt post, thanking the veterinary team for their care.
