LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Martin Short, guest-hosting 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' this week, didn't hold back in his scathing remarks aimed at Donald Trump.

Substituting for Kimmel, Short opened with a quip about the absent host, joking, "Jimmy isn't here, but was he ever really? You know what I mean. There was always something missing behind his eyes."

Embracing his role, Short continued, "Jimmy needs a break. If anyone deserves the summer off after working so hard all year, it's talk show hosts—and teachers, in that order."

Martini Short's humor hits bullseye on Trump's political maneuvers

Known for his irreverent style, Short seamlessly blended comedy with commentary on current events, particularly focusing on Trump's recent announcements.

Regarding Trump's narrowing list of potential running mates, Short quipped, "So Donald Trump said he's close to announcing his running mate and has reportedly narrowed it down to three people. It was four, but OJ died."

Short didn't shy away from Trump's well-known insecurities, poking fun at his infamous hand size with a sharp jab, "What a choice Trump has in his tiny little hands."

Discussing the prospective vice presidential candidates, Short humorously portrayed them as less than ideal choices.

"There's Doug Burgum, the governor of North Dakota. Doug Burgum sounds like the name of your most annoying coworker," Short quipped, setting off laughter in the audience. He continued with mocking references to Senator Marco Rubio and Ohio Senator JD Vance, highlighting their past criticisms of Trump.

Furthermore, mocking the contenders for the VP spot as "doormats," Short then turned to Trump's demand for drug tests before his upcoming presidential debate with President Joe Biden.

Short mocked Trump's assertion that Biden is "all jacked up."

"Yes, all jacked up on extra-strength Metamucil,” he quipped.

The audience erupted in laughter as Short underscored the absurdity of Trump's drug test demand, humorously pondering the logistics of obtaining urine samples from nearly octogenarians.

“Do you have any idea how long it takes to get a urine sample from men who are close to 80?” he said.

Netizens lap up Martin Short's humorous critique of Trump's VP choices

Martin Short's recent hosting stint on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' has sparked a wave of public reactions, highlighting both amusement and critical commentary on his pointed humor directed at Donald Trump.

One user wrote, "If the convict doesn't like comments about having small hands, he should avoid his typical hand gesture that looks as if he is grabbing someone's I cannot say where."

Another said, "Trump can't tell the truth, can't remember, and doesn't care. What is worse than all of that, is that his followers don't care either. Psychology has failed in understanding the social psychology that creates this mentality."

One said, "I agree with Martin Short that all three of Trump's VP pics were honestly forthcoming on what they actually thought of Trump - saying, "I would never do business with Trump," "Trump is a con artist," and "Trump is America's Hitler." Does anyone actually believe that they were not sincere when they said these things? The question is, why are they now willing to become Trump's "door mats," as Martin Short describes them?"

One added, "According to Stormy, his hands aren't the only small body part "

Another commented, "Trump is said to be considering Rubio for VP. The two of them argued in a debate who had the shorter fingers. What the h has happened to the Republican party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Eisenhower?"
