NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Matt Lauer has reportedly been trying to convince 'Today' show co-host Savannah Guthrie to help her get his career back on track, as per RadarOnline

The two recently met at 'Today' show producer Jennifer Long's star-studded wedding, where the former was apparently seen requesting Guthrie.

Moreover, another insider said, "Savannah and Matt looked to be having a serious talk while the party went on," according to the National Enquirer.

The defamed TV personality faced firing from the NBC morning show in 2017 after being accused of inappropriate sexual behavior with a female worker.

Matt Lauer was accused of rape by co-worker

Later, his ex-NBC co-worker Brooke Nevils alleged that he raped her at the 2014 Sochi Olympics in Russia.

She claimed, as per NBC News, "It was nonconsensual in the sense that I was too drunk to consent. It was nonconsensual in that I said, multiple times, that I didn’t want to have anal sex."

Also, a statement by the network read, "Matt Lauer’s conduct was appalling, horrific, and reprehensible, as we said at the time. That’s why he was fired within 24 hours of us first learning of the complaint. Our hearts break again for our colleague."

Matt Lauer denied all allegations brought against him

As per Variety, Ronan Farrow's book 'Catch and Kill' detailed the allegations brought against Lauer, leading to him denying them by posting an open letter through his lawyer.

He noted, "In a new book, it is alleged that an extramarital, but consensual, sexual encounter I have previously admitted having, was in fact an assault. It is categorically false, ignores the facts, and defies common sense."

"I had an extramarital affair with Brooke Nevils in 2014. It began when she came to my hotel room very late one night in Sochi, Russia. We engaged in a variety of sexual acts. We performed oral sex on each other, we had vaginal sex, and we had anal sex. Each act was mutual and completely consensual," further stated the disgraced anchor.

Matt Lauer has reportedly changed his life after his 'Today' exit

Meanwhile, PEOPLE Magazine reported that Lauer has been living "a fairly good life" after the scandal.

A source disclosed that he had "drastically changed his social circle and iced out many old friends, even people who stuck by him after the Today show."

"It's a very quiet lifestyle, but he has nothing to complain about. He is dating, he's close with his kids. He still held on to the huge horse farm he shared with [ex-wife] Annette [Roque] on Long Island and they manage it together. They've navigated that fairly well," added the insider.
