MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: Easter Sunday brought Meghan Markle under scrutiny again after she posted a video. Fans believe she staged her Easter duckling video, Daily Mail reported.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, took to Instagram to share a serene moment possibly from near her Montecito home — a duck and her ducklings waddling across a sun-dappled woodland road, with Meghan herself watching in awe.

Meghan Markle's Easter moment with ducklings

Clad in an elegant white sleeveless midi dress, Meghan Markle appeared genuinely delighted, her mouth agape as she spotted a family of ducks crossing the road.

The video, accompanied by the nostalgic tune 'Choo Choo Ch’Boogie' by American saxophonist Louis Jordan, a nod, perhaps, to the ducks’ rhythmic, train-like movement — quickly gained traction online.

She captioned the heartwarming clip, "An Easter weekend surprise", adding, "Wishing you a Happy Easter full of love….and surprises!"

The moment, symbolic of new beginnings and spring, especially on Easter, struck a chord with her fans. Within hours, the short clip soared past five million views.

But not everyone was charmed.

Critics claim Meghan Markle's Easter video was 'staged' with 'trained ducks'

Some social media users and self-proclaimed conspiracy theorists have accused Meghan Markle of staging the touching video.

They zeroed in on the camera angle, claiming it was suspiciously well-framed for a spontaneous wildlife moment.

One fan shared, "If this is not set up who goes for a walk with a cameraman following."

Another wrote, "Of course it was staged, but the acting is not worthy of an oscar."

A different viewer pointed out, "That was some of the worst ham acting I've seen in a while!"

A follower commented, "OMG using trained ducks how low can this women go."

One person stated, "I wonder how many times the poor little ducklings had to be thrown out of the bushes for a second, third, etc take to make it perfect."

Another individual observed, "Perfectly dressed in the woods? Give over she never misses a photo op."

Someone sarcastically noted, "All women wear long white dresses and high heels for walks in the woods don’t they?"

Daily Mail reported said that Mallard ducks, the type featured in the clip, are extremely common in California.

According to the California Waterfowl organization, the majority of mallards harvested in the state are also hatched there, making an Easter duck crossing in Montecito not so far-fetched after all.

Meghan Markle's busy Easter season

Whether it was a candid encounter or curated content, the Easter video dropped right as Meghan Markle continues to grow her lifestyle empire.

Her brand, As Ever, recently sold out its first line of products, a milestone that hasn’t gone unnoticed.
