Meghan Markle seeks to sell chicken feed and dog treats via lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard
MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle is exploring fresh business opportunities as she introduced a new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which was announced on the company's official Instagram account.
The bio of the account reads, "by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex," while its description states that the business was "established" in 2024.
Meghan Markle might sell pet food through new business venture
The Instagram account also provided a link to the website, americanriviera.com. As of now, both the social media account and the website remain in the preliminary stage.
What stands out is the emblem consisting of the company's name written in gold and mentions Montecito, where the Duke and Duchess currently reside.
American Riviera Orchard is expected to sell a wide range of home goods, such as edible treats like jellies, jams, and spreads, as well as tableware staples like table linens and drinkware.
However, many were surprised by the fact that chicken and dog food might be included in the wide range of products.
As Meghan lodged papers to trademark the initials of her new enterprise American Riviera Orchard, she is also said to have filed documents to sell chicken feed and other pet food items, according to the US Sun.
The publication claims the brand has trademarked ARO for "Pet food; Edible pet treats; Bird seed."
Meghan has also applied to trademark the company name for pet feeding mats, clothes, cookbooks, and gardening equipment.
Notably, Kate Middleton's brother, James Middleton, owns a dog food brand called James & Ella.
Talking about the Duchess of Sussex's new venture, an insider said, "She’s been working on this for over a year and it’s all the things that are close to her heart — all the things she’s passionate about," to Page Six Style.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's love for animals is not new

In an Instagram post, DeGeneres wrote, "Sinkie’s leg is fixed but our chickens were still picking on her so she had to be re-homed," before adding, "Luckily our friends Harry and Meghan’s coop had room for one more. Not sure yet what her royal title will be."
