SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle joined Girls Inc of Greater Santa Barbara on Friday, October 11, to celebrate International Day of the Girl Child while donning Princess Diana's Cartier Tank Francaise gold watch for the event.

Meghan, 43, wore a gold Cartier Tank Francaise watch during the visit, a gift from the late Princess's collection. Diana's sons inherited her gold Cartier Tank Francaise watch, which she wore on formal occasions, per GB News.

Prince Harry, 40, later handed the watch to his wife, Meghan, who has given the item a self-explanatory meaning. Meghan accessorized her watch with a J Crew shirt.

In addition to donning Diana's item, Meghan's look complemented Archewell's anti-cyberbullying campaigns and her decades of advocacy for women's rights.

She accessorized with a brown belt from Ralph Lauren, which she has owned for many years. The Duchess of Sussex chose to wear brown suede pumps from Manolo Blahnik.

The Duchess of Sussex claimed to be "one of the most bullied people in the world" as she spoke to young girls during her tour. She also discussed a brand-new "digital wellness" initiative that the Archewell Foundation of the Sussexes is co-funding.

This was Meghan's second public appearance without her spouse following her attendance at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles gala on October 5. According to royal experts, the pair is "going their own ways" and leading increasingly "separate lives."

The former actress continues to deal with accusations that she mistreated her employees while she was living in the United Kingdom, despite Meghan and Harry's intentions to lead lives of service, per OK! Magazine.

The Duchess of Sussex maintained her modest fashion trend during her trip to Colombia with Prince Harry. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent time in the South American nation, marking their first international tour since they visited Nigeria.

Meghan chose an all-white outfit for the third day of their trip, which included a Posse linen maxidress and an Argent ribbed tank top, per WWD.

The American Riviera Orchard founder finished off her ensemble with gold jewelry, Emme Parsons t-strap sandals, and a matching Hannia Char hat and Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses.

Meghan's jewelry comprised Princess Diana's Tank Francaise watch as well as the Duchess's Juste Un Clou collar and gold Cartier Love bangle.

According to reports, Prince Harry gifted his wife the late Diana's yellow gold watch, which Meghan first wore in public in 2020.

Although Diana's watch is probably worth much more considering its historical significance, the same model today retails for upwards of $22,000. The late Princess of Wales also had a black leather-strapped Cartier Tank.

Princess Diana first appeared sporting Cartier's Tank Louis Cartier watch in the 1980s, which is thought to have been a gift from her father, the 8th Earl Spencer.

After her divorce in 1996, she started wearing her gold Cartier Tank Francaise watch instead of the Patek Philippe watch that Prince Charles gave her, per British Vogue.

British Vogue's jewelry and watch director Rachel Garrahan said, "Princess Diana frequently wore the classic design with a black leather strap."

"For more formal occasions she opted for a jewel-like gold Tank Française – it was based on the original Tank but has a more angular design and an integrated metal bracelet."

Meghan currently dons Diana's Tank Francaise, which her husband, Prince Harry, inherited. Former royal butler Paul Burrell claimed that Harry picked her famous sapphire engagement ring and Prince William originally chose the Tank Francaise from his mother's collection.

However, the two switched when William was getting ready to pop the question to Kate in 2010, who is now the Princess of Wales.

Meghan Markle is longtime fan of Cartier

The Duchess has been a lifelong admirer of Cartier; practically 10 years before she married into the royal family, she had one of the brand's iconic gold Love bangles ($4,750 and up) since at least 2011.

She also wore the brand on her wedding day, choosing matching drop earrings ($66,000) for the reception and a diamond-encrusted bracelet ($150,000) for the ceremony.

Meghan also owns a Cartier Tank Francaise, which she bought years ago. As per the outlet, the Duchess intends to give her daughter her expensive, over $5,000 yellow gold and steel watch. Additionally, it has a personalized inscription that says, "To M.M. From M.M."
