LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle mourned the loss of her dog, a beagle named Guy, in a video post on Instagram on Tuesday, January 7, reported Life & Style.
Guy has been with Meghan for almost a decade, from her days starring in the hit television series 'Suits' to her marriage to Prince Harry, and becoming the Duchess of Sussex.

"In 2015, I adopted a beagle from a dog rescue in Canada. He had been at a kill shelter in Kentucky and given a few days to live. I swooped him up … and fell in love,” the 43-year-old wrote in the caption. "They referred to him as ‘the little guy’ because he was so small and frail, so I named him Guy. And he was the best guy any girl could have asked for.”
Guy was a part of many milestones in Meghan's life, from filming 'Suits,' for her royal wedding, and welcoming her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
“He endured a terrible accident shortly before I moved to the UK which had him undergoing surgeries for several months and unable to leave the clinic,” recalled Meghan. “Doctors said he would never walk again, but Dr Noel Fitzpatrick said he could do it. H and I would drive late at night, after hours, to see Guy as he recovered in Surrey for months on end.”

The star noted that Guy would be seen in her new Netflix series, 'With Love, Meghan,' which makes her all the more emotional over his demise.
"I have cried too many tears to count - the type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them, or pretend they’re not there. But they are. And that’s okay too," she mentioned in conclusion, adding, "Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you’ll never know."
Guy's furry companions
Apart from Guy, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry share Pula, a black labrador, and Mama Mia, a second rescue beagle.
According to Life & Style, the three fur siblings were a part of the couple's royal holiday card. Earlier this month, Guy was also seen in the trailer for Meghan's upcoming lifestyle series on Netflix, in which he is known to have a few 'cameos.'
Back in 2022, Prince Harry shared his take on having three dogs in the household, saying, "I tell you what, we all need a dog that keeps us calm. I’ve got three in this house now. So, we basically have five children."
"Between the three of them, they charge around chasing squirrels and causing all sorts of problems to us every single day. But they are also emotional, emotional support dogs 100 percent when they’re behaving," he added.
