Meghan Markle texted Patrick J Adams offering ‘help’ for his ‘Suits’ podcast despite being ‘out of touch’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle's former 'Suits' co-star, Patrick J Adams, recently revealed that while the two aren’t in regular contact, the Duchess of Sussex still reached out to offer support for his new podcast project.
Patrick, 43, shared this in a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything), where he discussed his relationship with Meghan following her departure from the hit legal drama and her transition into royal life, as reported by The Sun.
Meghan Markle reaches out to 'Suits' co-star Patrick J Adams despite being ‘out of touch’
Though Patrick J Adams admitted that they “are not really in touch,” he revealed that Meghan Markle, 43, had texted him upon hearing about his new 'Suits' rewatch podcast with fellow co-star Sarah Rafferty. According to Patrick, Meghan’s message was “lovely" expressing excitement about the podcast and offering help.
“She sent a lovely text, saying how excited she was for us and asking how she could help in any way,” Patrick said, adding that it was heartwarming to still have “that kind of support and friendship” despite their different life paths.
Meghan, who starred as paralegal Rachel Zane on 'Suits' from 2011 to 2018, left the show just before marrying Prince Harry.
Patrick, who is married to 'Pretty Little Liars' star Troian Bellisario, joked that his daughters Aurora and Elliot would be happy to have a playdate with Meghan and Harry’s children, Archie and Lilibet, quipping that maybe it could happen “at her house — it’s a little bigger".
Podcasting isn't unfamiliar territory for the duchess, who launched her own podcast, 'Archetypes', on Spotify, which tackled societal labels faced by women.
Patrick J Adams reveals he knew Meghan Markle was perfect for 'Suits'
Patrick J Adams recently shared that he knew from the beginning that Meghan Markle was destined for her role in 'Suits'.
During an appearance on the 'Sidebar: A Suits Watch podcast', Adams reflected on their undeniable on-screen chemistry, which helped seal Markle’s fate as Rachel Zane, his character Mike Ross’ love interest on the hit USA Network drama.
Adams explained that their connection during the chemistry read was immediate and stronger than with any other potential actresses. "It was pretty clear, if I remember correctly, that she was going to get the part from the minute we did the chemistry read,” Adams said.
“It was just so much easier than it was with anybody else."
Their strong rapport wasn’t surprising to Adams, as the two had previously worked together on a failed pilot, 'Good Behavior'.
He recalled, "The pilot failed. It was terrible and went away. And so we had never seen each other nor spoken to each other again," until they reunited during the casting process for 'Suits'.
When they saw each other at the 'Suits' chemistry reads, Adams recalled a warm reunion.
“When I went in to do the chemistry reads with [potential actresses for] Rachel, [Meghan] was right there and she said, ‘Hi.’ And I went, ‘Oh my God, so good to see you!’”
